recently purchased a vending run of sited machines. Looking at re jigging the options, as the bloke has weird stuff in there that clearly won’t sell. Apart from coke and pepsi max etc looking at what others consider “must haves” including energy drink options. FYI all machines are in workshop type environments.

Maxed out of options but definitely had it in mind. Barista bros is a long life so would suit. Thanks for the feedback

Had a bunch of vending machines about 20 years ago. Things may have changed since then, particularly in regards to red bull etc, but if you put Coke in the majority of slots you’ll do ok.

The usual. Coke: but he has a very cheap range in there. A lot of Kirks and Schweppes which he says doesn’t move. Also random mother flavours like purple. I assume he got them cheap. As he doesn’t stock regular mother

I would be interested to know the sales if you had Mother, Monster and Red Bull together.

I'm surprised people still buy Red Bull considering the range of cheaper and usually better tasting options.

He said he stocked red bull once but guys were trying to reach and grab them. Considering they are never cheap I don’t think I’ll even bother with them. Monster and mother are always on sale at woolies or coles.

Frankly the vending machine business has always intrigued me a little bit. Just having the machines sitting out there making money two dollars at a time.

Iced Coffee is a must, probably water as boring as that sounds, powerade. Food? Chips/Mars Bars etc?

Cheers for the feedback. He’s got power ade in there at the moment but he said it doesn’t really move. Which is odd. Ice coffee will definitely be an addition.

Old school vending machines were just a plastic image of a can of Coke or something and a collection of buttons for each option.

I like the new ones with the glass panel and you can see all the different options inside like a big display case.

You have to look at who your consumers are. If it’s a gym stuff like Powerade will probably sell well. If it’s a area where a lot of tradies are they will prefer stuff like iced coffee and soft drink .

My gym has a machine that has water, sports drinks (Powerade, protein milk stuff etc.) and protein bars. I bought a water once when I forgot to bring a bottle, don't think I've ever seen anyone else buy anything.
