Don't really have anything against the dogs. But hits like this one and Houston one on Thursday night should be getting harsher punishments.

Extremely dangerous action - basically 50/50 to cause a concussion but the bans are minimal because of they were on the right side of that 50/50.

Meanwhile Mansall from Richmond is on the wrong side of an incident which happens so often for no injury and gets three weeks the 1 time in 100 it does.

If you punish the outcome rather than the action it doesn't solve anything because it's all down to luck whether you get suspended or not. If that's the case players won't change much if at all.
I think nothing short of a fatality or a class action due to head injuries is going to change this narrow mindset of the AFL unfortunately
The old “ she’ll be right. We’ve always done it this way “ mindset will pervade till something drastic happens

Nah punishments have got harsher, it's just that outcome rather than action is being punished.

Outcome should come into in some circumstances (i.e the Gaff incident) but extremely dangerous actions that the victim is lucky and comes away uninjured are punished less than they should be.

Yes I am agreeing with you
Case in point , the Houston hit
Action would have it at least 3-5 weeks
Outcome downgrades it to 2

I am heartened though because the last few years it wouldn’t have received any penalty, particularly to a Collingwood player

Honestly think it's quite possible Houston got two weeks rather than one as a repeat offender. Even if the MRP chook lotto formula didn't spit out the desired result the results can be easily manipulated.

I wrote the most read CCR song ranking on the internet if ya ever want to read it.

Not sure about the take on "I Put A Spell On You". Doubt Screaming Jay Hawkins ever thought Creedence's version was better than his original version. There's a bit in Gerri Hirshey's book "Nowhere To Run" where she interviews Screaming Jay Hawkins and mentions she saw him as a support act for The Rolling Stones where she heard someone in the audience say "he's doing a Creedence song" when he begins performing "I Put A Spell On You". Then she writes about his tears of rage as he goes and gets a letter of praise that John Fogerty wrote to Screaming Jay when he heard the song for the 1st time.

I don't think the version is necessarily superior, but Forgerty's vocals are at his absolute raw best, incredibly dramatic solo's too.

Usually on replay when you've calmed down (and already won) bad umpiring isn't so bad (still noticeable but not bad)

But jesus christ, watching this weeks replay, this is ****en wild umpiring, making me angry even knowing that we have won it.

All 4 of them should be dropped this week

I watched again and it was an absolute disgrace..
As was the commentary from Pappalia and Pav
Pappalia was practically calling ball every time we were tackled and it was crickets from Pav every time we got shafted

They say coaches shouldn’t have even subtle digs at umpires but Beveridge’s crack at them after Pies game sure worked for him.

Im sick of these Sunday games. The bloody round starts on Thursday and there’s still half a week before we play.
Thankfully this is the last one for quite a while. In fact, after this one we have zero Sunday games up to the open back end of the fixture.

I sorta jump back and forth whether I like Sunday games or not.

On Thursday it's annoying having to wait another day to have the final team confirmed, but on the other hand if we lose it stops the disappointment ruining the rest of the round for me.

On the third hand, if we play early and win I really enjoy watching the rest of the round smugly laughing at all the losers with the 4 points safely banked away.

I thought Switkowski was good today, made a couple of mistakes, but he was good.

Had 6 touches and 0.0, its not enough, Duds did that in one quarter.

Going for goals 50m out into the wind when you cant even kick that far is dumb, centering the ball to a 3 on 1 with the 1 being the shortest freo player is dumb.

He did have 5 tackles which is something I suppose.

J-lo is guilty of playing favourites too often. As much as I like Switta his output isn't what it was up forwards. Play Dudley and try Switta on the wing.

Nah he was just showing some bfooters who said he can't kick beyond 10 metres. Guess he was right and they were wrong 😉

Was bit annoyed at the prolonged overhead aerial shots of the ground. They did it few times just after a goal and you miss the bounce and initial tap

It was also the coaches "behind the goal view" footage during the game, apparently, largely because the venue had space and height restrictions that made normal stadium camera positioning for those wide shots not possible.

Which then makes me wonder how long until we get gameday realtime "player drone vision" from two drones (one for each team) buzzing around at 35 m up linked to a GPS tracker on one player from each team. Imagine the drone being locked to follow Sharpy all game - 17kms of up and back running for no goals and 21 possies.
