While we are on the vent thread - I find posters who make it their mission to police other posters pretty annoying.

Just let it ride and as otherā€™s have said, mute someone you donā€™t like. Itā€™s an anonymous comments forum, there will be extreme views, both positive and negative, thatā€™s what makes it great.

Censorship of opinion is never appropriate outside of extreme circumstances (racism, bigotry), and even then there is a good argument to be made that there should be no censorship but a public shaming and interrogation of why the view is wrong.

Preventing publication of confidential or personal information is another one where it may be justified.

But outside of those, running to mods to ban people or whatever because you disagree with their take or find them too ā€˜negativeā€™ is weak IMV. The notion that all supporters must be effusive over all aspects following a good win is also nonsense. Rossā€™ truism is actually so accurate in all aspects if life: Never as good, never as bad.

Agree with all of that, I enjoy the cut and thrust of differing opinions. However I disagree with personal abuse, particularly of other posters.

I have great fun going to and fro with posters I disagree with, but I draw that line at walking past someone like Silent Alarm calling our supporters ****ing morons. The standards you walk past are the standards you accept.

One goal of his is burned into my mind, was against Geelong a couple of years ago.

He took a mark on the 50 and actually went back and took a proper run up, did a bit of an arc and cleared the goal line half post height.

Don't know why that wasn't played back to him and worked on

One thing, albeit small, is that these sort of incredible all time wins should be solidifying the team into the top 4 or even top 2. Instead itā€™s keeping us in the top 8 and needed breathing space.

The team is capable just the silly loses always seem to occur along the way.

We got off to an ordinary start to the season and are roaring home. Almost a little too late.

To be fair, after being 12 - 2 at one stage it definitely evened up, finishing 24 - 20. If you read the Pies supporters on the main board game day thread we were gifted that game by the umpires šŸ˜³

Genuine question Swanny, are you seeing the similarities between us and the Pies this year (since the Saints debacle)? We don't tend to beat up on the weaker teams but we are bloody hard to beat. The last two weeks are what finals will look like and I think we're showing the right stuff.

As I've said all season, I'm slowly coming around, but have had a consistent pass mark that is to win a final. It's looking more and more likely we could reach or even surpass that mark, but being a Freo fan, it's a very one week at a time outlook.

Maybe i'm just scarred but there is a sick part of me that still thinks the Eagles is a danger game, even though on paper we should absolutely belt them.

JLo deserves a lot of credit for the last fortnight in particular - his two best wins of his entire tenure, to come from behind at 3QT to beat both Hawks and Pies is incredible, but we have 5 more weeks of footy, and after last seasons debacle, it's hard to go the early crow.

Also - Pies fans have reached a level of delusion I didn't even think existed - maybe it's because they're bad, but I hate all these Vic clubs way more than West Coast these days.
