Yeah I think a lot of our problems have begun at selection the last couple of weeks. Someone on the committee likes to play favourites
Picking six midfielders in a team of 22 is even worse imo.
These conditions were made for Erasmus yet he’s doing **** all as the sub. No coincidence Brodie and Mundy were our best two mids. Big bodied midfields win you games in the wet. Under Ross Lyon we were made for it - Barlow, Mundy, Fyfe, Crowley, Mzungu, even ****ing Suban. No where near it now.

So what. It's not like the teams we are playing against have it any different. We got hit with a 4 x 2 plank..we just didn't want it today

When is the Freddy experiment going to end ? Guy is not a footballer .
We basically played 2 men down today
Freddy and Banfield got nowhere near it other than a couple of touches towards the end when they decided to pull their finger out
Tabs and Lobb weren’t the problem.
Our forwards need to watch how Collingwoods no name small forwards got it done .

Now listen. It was sunshine and rainbows here yesterday. And was dry pretty much every other game this round. The current forecast for Melb also has it dry right before our game time. It's rly a matter of hours

Really just does not get it
Pressed up way too high when we were in defence so provided no outlet
Walked around a lot
Found no space in the forward line
Didn’t crumb , didn’t even position himself to crumb

Frederick has work to do to make it for sure, but unlike Banfield he at least has one AFL trait in elite speed.
Whether that’s enough is still uncertain.
Also collingwoods small forwards aren’t no names. Ginnivan and Elliott are both better than any of our small forwards apart from maybe Switta.
I agree on your insight but speed means nothing if you have no idea on how to read the game

It absolutely kills any chance of decent ball movement because precious split seconds are lost controlling the ball and the player is then under extra duress disposing if it.
Last night I thought only Brodie and Mundy didn’t really fumble much. Yes it was wet but they had guys like Crisp, Ginnivan and Degoey who looked like they were playing with a dry ball at times.
The following guys are just some of the worst culprits and we can’t carry them all:
Frederick
Banfield
Colyer
Aish
Walters and Switta are a bit better but you wouldn’t call them clean one-touch players either.
We are crying out for a Tipungwuti type (the cleanest handed small forwards I’ve ever seen in AFL footy). Maybe there’s a MSD player we can pull out of nowhere to fill this gap.
