Felt like a lot of those I50s were immediately rebounded because we were kicking into no / shit contests. Although not great, I think the forward personnel are taking too much blame. The coaching has to take some blame for our forward structure being too ****ing slow at setting up every-time we were moving the ball on a turnover ourselves.

I think one time I saw just Hughes 1v3 outside of the square competing for a long bomb. Unbelievable, like Wtf were we doing.

The smart teams know the value of good finishers in the draft and put a premium on forwards a lot more than we have done.
take this year - Hugh Davies at pick 34, I’m sure he could become a decent player in time but he’s a key defender.
You can find a serviceable defender via trade very easily but it’s much harder find a goal scorer. A finisher. Tipungwuti would have been awesome but we couldnt get him over the line. Couldnt promise him the list spot only a train on role so he went to Essendon. Another conservative choice - not taking a risk. Guarantee the guy a years contract and hope you get the best from him. If it doesn’t work- no harm done.
We need a goalsneak small forward so badly in this team it’s depressing.

It's such a salient point, but I do think we have a smart finisher in Sturt, who respectfully wasn't showcasing the required grunt last year....apparently.

As much as I want to see Sturt I reckon Drizzle would add more
Smarter , faster , 2 way runner , defensive but also usually good for igniting fast play and a couple of goals a game

I don’t know. I think he deserves a shot now at this stage. Sometimes forwards need a bit of love from the coaches. Anyone who has played sport, even soccer, knows when you score a goal you get a surge of confidence. Tails up, an extra bit of swagger, whatever it is. It’s such a mental thing. Fyfe and Treacy look so devoid of confidence in front of goal right now. Each miss is draining more of their confidence from them. There are other players who look like they will never miss but we don’t have them sadly
Said this last season but I’d have been delighted to bring Jack darling to this club for a 3 year deal last year.
He would kick 100 goals in that period without a shadow of a doubt. I don’t seen anyone on our list now you can confidently say that about.

If Sturt can get selected and show that he can apply the intensity AND kick goals, we would then have 2 weapons if Driz was also playing. We are crying out for more firepower - both potentially provide it, instead we get guys like Hughes and Banfield floating in and around the 22 - neither should be anywhere near it for mine. Of course Sturt could play and be no more effective than Treacy was, I mean...we all wanted Treacy in off the back of his pre-season. But he went AWOL today

Our mindset has to shift, we have players capable, we need to amend the system to make it accountable. Christ, look at Collingwood and even Melbourne with their patchwork forward lines. They have found the way to utilise them and get brutal. If we want to progress, we are now challenged with doing the same. But a lot of that is also ball movement before it hits the forward lines too. We have sh*tloads of work ahead of us

our defence isn't the issue. No 2 last year - 12th for attack. Our forward ability is STILL the issue. It sucks.

52 points, the lowest amassed score of the round. Just terrific.

J-Lo is now in his 4th year - Ross is behind us now, a former coach. Moved on to pastures new. Pastures greener?

J-Lo needs to get to work, cos....if it ain't tweaked somehow, if we don't adapt to the speedier style which we are more than capable of with our half-backs and other personnel...we'll never ever make it beyond what we were last year and our exciting list which we all get so pumped up about will be another group of wasted talents at Freo.
