Wouldn't say Van Rooyen kept Grundy out. More a case of they can't play both gawn and Grundy as ruck. Gawn is preferred ruck and Grundy sux as a forward

He played forward and second ruck because he’s a better forward than Grundy. My take on that is he kept Grundy out.

Agreed no chance. That pick 4 will be 5 on draft night at least as Jed Walter will be bid on.
Then there is the increasing possibility of a north Melbourne priority pick pushing it back to 6.
 
Have to say, that like so many other Docker supporters, I was disgusted with the commentary during the Collingwood game.

If it wasn’t bad enough that they wouldn’t shut up about the Collingwood players, especially Daicos (you know which one), it reached a new low when we’re looking at vision of Brandon Walker writhing in agony on the ground, while they continued to bang on about Collingwood. It was distressing vision and their behaviour was appalling!!

You can only imagine how different it would’ve been if the player was wearing black & white.

Friggen ignorant. The Afl and football media are turning me off the game. The whole thing is rigged by the Afl and biased by Vic media.

Doesn’t matter how many draft picks Nth Melbourne get they are a minnow club.
AFL is just interested in money. It’s the same with Tassie.
They don’t care about the game, it’s been like that since our inception.
More feeder clubs for the big Victorian machine.
It’s why WC avoids kids with the go home factor, and why free agency
prevents equalisation.
I’m lucky enough to remember the great commentators who just called
the game.

You should have heard BT on Melbourne radio calling the game....basically said it wasn't a serious enough injury to take that long for Walker to get off the ground and have play restart. The anger I felt with those comments, I could only imagine what his parents would think.... hopefully they didn't hear them.
 
Are there supporters on here that actually think we’re going to win a flag , it’s going to take one hell of a fluke i mean you only have to look how many interstate sides have won one since 2007 , that’s why i’m chucking my membership in after this year it just seems totally hopeless.

Cal Twomey's started his Phantom Form Guides for the year, which is an awesome reminder of the inequality of the AFL Draft. Six players in the top 20 are tied to clubs for various reasons: three players from the Suns academy, two players who are father-sons of Victorian teams, and one player from our NGA. Guess which one won't get to the club they're tied to?

North are also pushing for Sanders (#9 in Twomey's list) to be included in their NGA and for them to be allowed to circumvent the rules to pre-list him as part of another assistance package.

But that’s typical of Melbourne radio. I can’t stand Triple M especially. They are everything wrong with modern media.

Ya I’m starting to realise we are manfully batting away in a completely uneven comp where everything is stacked against us.
It’s reasons like this I desperately hope Port can win the flag this year and strike a blow for clubs like ourselves.

I think it’s unlikely we win one, especially with another team coming in. The Vic clubs will continue to get all the players coming home after their stint at feeder clubs, their generations of father sons & the northern clubs will keep getting their academy players while any half decent ones we develop will get picked off before 40 essentially making the system useless for us.

I do think we’re setup for a competitive few years though so the next few should be at least interesting.

I don’t think it’s necessarily good for your enjoyment of the game if nothing but a flag makes it worth watching. I’m just trying to enjoy the ride where possible. I know the club will be but I don’t have any real expectations we will win the whole thing anytime soon.
