More WA kids than I thought would go.

Still hoping Sanchez gets a guernsey today. I'd even be happy for him to become a Dirty Bird.

Not really a vent, but I had to find somewhere to put this without cauterising the feel good vibes of pre season training.

Has Cox ever seen the inside of a gym?
Him and Noddy appear physically incapable of getting any kind of physical definition. Noddy even seems to be one of the fittest at the club, not that you could tell from his jello arms

When this topic comes up I always point out we used to have some guy called Barra play for us. He never achieved physical definition but my memory is he was handy (to quote some other guy who used to be at the club).

plus some bodies just aren't like that, some guys won't ever shred up that much, no matter how much work they put in.

Did I miss something with the media?

Wet Toast supporting mates at work banging on about how their new recruits were welcomed by senior players and officials and all we had was Pavlich rock up to present the 29 jumper. Any truth to that?

Also, a friend of mine whose relative went to school with Liam Henry said he left because he couldn't stand [PLAYERCARD]Justin Longmuir[/PLAYERCARD]. Literally no context to back-up what created that. Ah well.

I'd bet my house that said context was getting dropped to the 2s

The smugness on Lachie Schultz face everytime you see him in pies gear. He actually fits right in with them.

Used to walk around with small angry man syndrome

"all we had was Pavlich" does not sit well with me, that's a flipping honour for the Great Man to show up on arrival

As for the Henry stuff, not what I heard at all, was torn on leaving and staying, nothing wrong with JL

What is it with people writing "tbh" at the beginning of sentences, at the end of sentences, and even mid-sentence.

I thought it was just one person doing it, but just now I read 3 different posters doing it in the same thread.

Do they want it understood that anything else they write that doesn't have "tbh" in it should be regarded as dishonest, or is it just an unnecessary affectation.

It's a fecking plague.
tbh I prefer it over the lol’s 😉

Dane Swan springs to mind as well

Your 'mates' are probably expressing such a degree of self-duluded dikheddery here that the only solution is to find new mates. They don't sound like the type to be convinced by truth if it is counter to their cherished views.

Def need new mates.

Pavlich happened by chance to be on the same flight as Cooper. Freo took advantage of such opportunity in this social media age to do something spontaneous and rather cool I reckon.

They (the new recruits) were welcomed at the Kings Park session and from the past couple of years a BBQ at one of the senior players home over the weekend. Sharp at training yesterday didn’t look like a nervous newcomer that had never met anyone. The draftees were eased into their first session and then had a press conference to introduce to the public.

As for Henry. As mentioned by another he was genuinely torn but persuaded by a pushy agent who we know is an issue for Freo. The fact that he got dropped early in the season may have been the point at which he made up his mind. Also Col Young was asked (by Cal Twomey) about Henry on the gettable segment just before the season started and he was cagey at that point.

Henry got back into the team and seemed to have good cohesion with teammates and coaching staff during the second half of the year. It really appears he had his mind made up from 2022 and this was consolidated after being dropped early season. I don’t subscribe to the theory that he was given games in the second half to improve trade value. The club were more than generous giving him a second go which Henry then grasped following a series of career defining games.

I feel the club were well consigned to losing Henry and also comfortable losing Hamling. They preferred to retain both but back up options in Sharp and McDonald seem more than adequate replacements.

The loss that will hurt and the club didn’t want to encounter was Schultz. The deal we got was reasonable:
Upgrading the 2023 2nd to get Cooper, potentially adding small forward Max Beatie as rookie and having a late future first.

The loss of Schultz driven by money and family reasons. Him being replaced will take a collective (incl. development of Emmett) and hope that a gem like Beatie can come on (if he ends up making the team list).
