We are Melbourne on steroids.
Have we got the worst forward line in the comp? It’s definitely bottom 4 anyway. It’s worse than the eagles for sure, which is quite an achievement given how s**t they have been.

Melbourne’s forward line is at least pretty good on paper, they just play a defensive and controlled possession-based game that limits scoring. Remember this same Melbourne team put up 140 on the scoreboard in the Grand Final a couple years ago so they’re definitely capable of flipping the switch when necessary

Whereas we play defensively and our forward line is s**t

On the topic of Melbourne and goal-scoring mids, Petracca alone kicked 5 goals on Thursday night and nearly single-handedly dragged Melbourne over the line.

A reminder that our mids; Serong, Brayshaw, Fyfe, Young, Johnson and O’Meara have kicked 9 goals combined for the year.

We just seem to have nobody with any genuine goal-sense

Petracca is the height of a key forward. Hardly far in comparison. Melbourne used him exclusively in that role.
Fyfe is the next option, but unfortunately isn’t mobile enough and we all know he’s suspect in front of goal.

Bit unfair to say McDonald looks better than our forwards. Imagine if Treacy & Amiss had Gulden, Warner & Heeney kicking the ball to them instead of our lot who put it over their heads, on the deck or straight to the opposition.

Petracca is a much better goal kicking forward than any of ours, however he played a full forward in the last half of that game.
