In that world, did Meek play as a forward / Ruck and lose all his confidence because the pitchforks came out when he was terrible at it? Or did we try Darcy at it?

There is also the whole culture thing and we have probably ruined it in the process and the 1.5m cap space has evaporated to just re-sign Young, Treacy & Brayshaw who are less committed at taking unders.

Guys like Acres and Logue were very popular, I'm guessing the playing group don't grudge them chasing cash.

If we had traded Darcy to free up cash for either or both of those 2 the playing group would have been on board IMO.

List management is easy in hindsight but based on the last 2 years we should have traded Darcy for Jackson, had Jackson and Meek leading the ruck, freeing up the cash to retain Blake Acres.

Thankfully Darcy still has plenty of time to prove he's better than Meek.

We had the cash to retain Acres. For some reason we just chose to not pay him what his performances said he was worth.

I reckon there's a good chance the Bombers have nothing to play for but the Suns do and its a paddlin.

I have the Bombers bottom 4 this year.

I am not sure that is correct.
There are still VFL clubs that are well looked after by the AFL.Remember that Melbourne were well and truely on the teat of the AFL for many years before they won the falg. And i believe they are still having hands out at every seasons end.
A couple of others, though some say they are going well, really are not.
Why is North selling a game to us here in WA.They are a basket case, and even in their hay days of cheque book recruiting could not get membershipsm and bums on seats.
And a couple more still struggle.
Probably the worst treated by the AFL are the WA and SA clubs.
You can't tell me that the AFL doesn't look after the bigger AFL clubs with marquee time slots. They even move certain games from Marvel to the MCG because of numbers.

If they have internet Stremio is the best option, otherwise best to pirate it.
I have StarLink and pretty much every streaming service known to man. We're actually in Townsville at the moment and I just felt like going to the cinema for a night out.

They just aren't making any good movies any more 😕

There are decent movies still being produced. Assuming you live in Perth I would check out the indie cinemas like Palace and Lunar. Last year I watched Poor Things and The Substance which are all pretty good. Alternatively, download Stremio and explore old cinema to your heart's content.
Used to enjoy Luna on Essex when I was there 👍

Try out Stremio, it will save you having to pay for any subscriptions ;)

He was awesome for 5 games. No guarantee he maintained that in non-contract years or that he could stay fit. They also had options in Henry, NOD, and I think they believed Sharp was coming over. Also, for the millionth time, they actually offered Acres more than Carlton, just that it was tied up in KPIs.

Even with hindsight, it only may have been better to keep him (could have been the difference last year but unlikely Given injuries to AP, JT & Darcy). Sure we'd have finished higher in 23 & 24 but then the Bolton trade may look a little different and we don't end up with Murphy Reid. We may also have lost NOD to the Bulldogs, and really high on him.

Arguments both ways, but not something to be overly critical of. Move on.

Move on! I'm still pissed about Matty deBoer and Mikey Barlow.
