It's easier to be numbed when the locals aren't the reigning f@#%ing premiers. XXXX? haven't drank that since I was a teenager. Hell, Great Northern is a bigger selling Queensland beer. Mind you I've still been on the Pirate Lifes and Balters for a while now anyway.

Pretty typical of left footers. But more so, the modern AFL player has no opposite foot which I just can’t believe. Pro athletes and hardly any have a decent opposite. Can’t believe the coaches don’t care

And a follow up question, how many think we are still "dead certs" to finish above Wet Toast this year?

I hope I'm wrong, but this is the most dire coaching and selection approach in years.

I picked only Nod and Murphy ,Thought about Serong or Brayshaw as one of my premiums but was a little underwhelmed with their games against Melbourne in our practice game .

Inside 50's were diabolical yesterday, but wtf are the coaches telling the midfield.
If it was me, I'd say get it in there quickly. You've got two of the best emerging KPF's in the comp, tell them to get out of each other's way, and compete. Additionally, our forward pressure was non existent, so when we did get it in there, the defenders ran it out with ease.
That's as much on the players, as it is on the coaches

Always has been.
I grew up in the 90's. Manchester United were THE team in all world sport. Chicago Bulls the other. But if you told me in 1999 that Man U would do nothing upto and including 2025, I and the rest of the world would've called you insane. But their great manager, Alex Ferguson leaves and there you have it. In a competition as even talent wise as the AFL is, the coach is so important.
The club has every piece in place for success except the mindset to do it. I'm not throwing the baby out with the bath water after Rd 1, but our issues are all mental.
I only listened to most of the game on the radio, but that commentary was all about our unforced errors, especially moving forwards and our inability to cross the ball and open the game.
Longmuir somehow needs to coach a winning mindset into this group. History suggests he will not.

And to rub salt in the wound, Hawthorn looks back to being a genuine contender again already.

So looks like it's the same old shit for us plus we have to put up with the stupid Hokball fap fest all season too, with JLo looking more and more a confirmed dud while Mitchell is looking like a brilliant coach. It's one of the most deflating starts to a season I can ever remember.

I can’t say I’m overjoyed!
 
One thing that really gives me the shits with this club is that it really struggles to meet expectations when there's a big game on.

We never play well on Thursday and Friday night games and if a game gets media hype, the players just go to water.
