Unfortunately that vanilla football reference a few weeks ago is going to stick to JLo for good, he really has the most vanilla footy style in the league. When the cats have the ball they look like they wanna play pure footy, when Freo have the ball it looks like they are contemplating maths homework.

yeah this cracks me up when he says we weren't prepared.

JL you've had the whole friggen summer to prepare for 1 game and now you say you didnt do it? i think we all would have accepted a loss - heck i tipped Geelong in a close one, but this capitulation was pathetic. Even if from this point we start winning everything - good teams dont do this, and it cost us a lot of percentage. With how hot the temp was, that shouldve actually been in our favour given we trained in the heat all summer. Even that didnt help us!

this is on top of everyone at the club saying how its been the hardest pre-season every bla bla bla. oh and lets throw into the mix how we purposely played "vanilla" a few weeks ago, insinuating we could suddenly flick to chocolate flavour and blow anyone off the park!

Cant wait to see how we go against Sydney - we'll find out if it's an abomination or if we really do stink of Vanilla to the core!

They were going down like 10 pins in the last with cramp. It does make you wonder just how hard our training was over summer.

For all the talk about the coach, I have a few worries about the captain.

I don't know what happens behind closed doors, but AP seems outwardly like he's more comfortable giving hugs than giving ruthless, honest truths and backing blokes being dropped.
I think Sebba should be given the gig at season end. He'll give us a harder edge IMO.

Nah, Pearce isn't the issue at all. I personally don't understand the criticism he cops around here.

You are always running harder when you don't have the ball ... and we didn't have the ball. Catters smashed us in the ruck and on the inside, so we were always chasing on the outside. It's a loooong day chasing in the heat.

Not trying to criticise him per se. I've certainly got nothing but respect for him. Just wondering if it's still the best fit for this group now.

Yeah, he doesn't appear to be a natural communicator - at least to the media. As abrasive as Ross was, I tend to think he would have talked up Reid's 4 goals on debut, if nothing else just to show confidence in the kid.

I'm no huge Ross fan, but at least his press conferences were entertaining. Is there anything more soul destroying than having a bad loss, only to have to listen to Longmuir talk about it afterwards?

I do miss the boss and his caustic wit..
St Kilda fans might not agree 👍

I firmly believe we should have a 2 year rotating roster with St Kilda.
1st year getting us up to standard, 2nd year premiership tilt then back to the other team before players burn out 🤣

He did mention him in the press breifer when questioned.

But Justin again stressed that a burst of activity in one quarter is not the salvation we looking for

We need 4 qtr efforts even (especiaaly) from the new faces. Doesnt mean we will all 4 qtrs , but we are competitive.

So Justin isnt the outgoing in your face coach that some people love. but he knows how to tell the media that Fremantle Players have a long way to go to be premiership hunting

He knows his job is on the line as Fans always want to crucify the coach when the going gets touch. maybe lynch a couple of players (none are that much worse than others )


so we live in hope for the next 30 yrs. not much hope. as sadly this type of display agaisnt Geelong is not a one off. every year, usually multiple times. then we wil lbeat a real contender and the fans will forget it all

Football ! We either love or hate it . depending on the score !
