I'm genuinely shocked you typed this.**** this club.
6 in a row. A dark part of me wants to see us lose this week, so the coaching position becomes untenable. But the whole box has to go.
It's born from continued frustration, sure, none of us like seeing our team lose, but at this point, if it speeds up the process of getting a new coach then it may be the right result in the long term.I'm seeing a majority of posts with thumbs up and love emojis wanting us to lose a Derby. Proof this place is for nuffies.
We do love putting all of our eggs in one basket don't we.Dave Mundy just said on 6PR that the Eagles are closer to a GF than the dockers.
And I’ll repeat what I said last year, we should have used our two first rounders in the draft instead of getting a middle aged player looking for a retirement package.
Everyone is critical of Voss kicking 1.3 (and one out on the full) but his biggest deficiency is definitely not getting back quickly and passing it off.The one that pissed me off was when Voss turned his back on the play to meander back for a very tight angle shot on goal, all the while Josh Treacy was waving his arms calling for the ball at the top of the goal square.
Fair enough Josh wasn’t making a lead at the time but he had at least 7 metres break on his opponent.
Now this can be partially excused if Patrick Voss was even a reasonable kick, however he is delusional in thinking he is another Sam Sturt.
Of course Vossy kicked it straight out on the ****ing full. NO ****ing surprise there.
Jye got burned at least three times with good leads and perhaps the kicker doubted his own ability to get it to him,
Voss however ****ing turning his back on the goals when he is on a thirty degree angle is unforgivable.
The cross field kick, god knows who he was looking for.

Longmuir I highly doubt has any pressure internally, everyone still seems to think things are sunshine and rainbows. I want this club to win a flag, it will not happen under Longmuir.
I agree, but **** it would be nice to have any confidence about the future of this team. There's no &^$%ing reason ever to want to lose to West Coast.
That's the worst part, there are people acting like it's okay, after all, we only lost to the grand finalists by three points!! Clearly everything is okay and people are just overreacting!!!I’ve never felt so disillusioned with the club before.
I think the worst part is seeing fans on various social media once again try to justify or defend that performance. I’ve never seen a fanbase in any sport with such low standards. Yeah if you only look at the scoreboard and completely ignore all other context and contributing factors then maybe you could spin some positives.
Fair enough if you are the cool calm customer type and ripping your hair out isn’t your style but I feel like I’m being gaslit into believing we are actually a super successful club with an amazing team/coach and this is all part of the plan and everything is fine and amazing and I have no right to complain as a long suffering supporter.
Out of the first 8 quarters of football, we’ve probably only played 1.5 good quarters (second half of the 3rd quarter last week, 1st quarter this week)
I’ve tried to watch as many games as I can and genuinely I think we are so far the worst looking team in the league at the moment and that’s not an exaggeration. Even Carlton and West Coast have managed to put together longer patches of cohesive and attractive looking footy then we have.
And people saying “we lost by 3 points, if the result was reversed the narrative would be different!” No it wouldn’t. If anything it would have been papering over very obvious cracks. We still play a style of football that is not conducive to long-term success in modern footy and will get us NOWHERE. And the amount of times we’ve lost the exact same carbon copy game over the past 2 years shows we are learning nothing.
Playing this style of footy, we will beat up on lower end teams, which is why I think we will beat West Coast next week, but any team worth their salt will embarrass us. I shudder to think what teams like Hawthorn and GWS would do to us.
Longmuir has coached 50 games against top-8 teams during his tenure and we’ve only won 14 of them. 28% win rate against the good teams in the comp. And this is over 6 seasons. How much more proof do you need? His style of football will not take us to where we need to be.
Sorry for the directionless ranting.

And the amount of times we’ve lost the exact same carbon copy game over the past 2 years shows we are learning nothing. It doesn’t feel like a new season, it feels like a continuation of last season, which makes me question what this team was doing all summer?

He actually has the attributes to be a pretty good forward once he puts it all together (and improves his kicking for goal) but someone has to have a word to him about being a team player. It cost us the game yesterday.
Sturt is such an underrated out in that team.
If he’s there yesterday he probably gets 9 touches, kicks 2 or 3 goals from maybe 3 or 4 looks at the goal, and we win by 10 points or so.
Some of the goal kicking was horrendous. Sturt was the most accurate set shot in the entire comp last year.
Its so frustrating his body can’t hold up
The sooner is he gone the better chance we have. A proper attacking game plan that excites the crowd and the players themselves. It's born from continued frustration, sure, none of us like seeing our team lose, but at this point, if it speeds up the process of getting a new coach then it may be the right result in the long term.

What annoys me more than shit coaching is that sadly he won’t be moved on until the end of the season regardless how we play. So wanna be wrong about this, but I doubt the board has the guts to do itThe sooner is he gone the better chance we have. A proper attacking game plan that excites the crowd and the players themselves.
Don't really care if it is exciting or attacking, we can have the most boring game plan in the league as long as we execute it and we win the majority of our games. The sooner is he gone the better chance we have. A proper attacking game plan that excites the crowd and the players themselves.
Very good point. I dont think anyone is directing him to change his approach. Which is why I find it hard to be critical of the players when the coaching panel are so blatantly deficient. Its obvious that Sharp is NOT being told to lower the eyes and its also obvious the forwards are not told to lead. If it was just Sharp that was not doing the right things, then you could blame the player and sent him to Peel.Jeremy Sharp can not do anything but bomb it long and high when 70 metres out?.
Is anyone out there actually directing him to change his approach?
He had 4 inside 50s in the last quarter. If one of those kicks hits a target we win the game.
I can see this very clearly but have zero faith in anyone pointing this out to him and we will no doubt see the same thing again next week.
Fu##ing infuriating.
Another good point, now Mundy is gone we need to priortise elite kickers to the forward line. Its why I was so happy when we picked up Young. Young, Walters, Clark, Ryan are good kicks. Reid is promising, Bolton is a good decision maker. We are not far away. We should try either Clark or Ryan further up the ground, probably wing. I know it goes against the grain but the grain is not working. Some of these out there ideas may not work either but at least try them. We are not winning it this year, yet again. It shows you how much having our best 2 kicks out of the side (young and walters) annihilates a team with our footskills.
Honestly there's no one i'd like to be leading to on this side. Maybe Luke Ryan but he couldn't defend my grandma.
