Before the season started I had a couple of informal undertakings from eagles members that I could have their ticket for this derby as "no one wants to watch the dockers smashing us"
Now after the weekend they're suddenly up and about and I'm watching on the couch
We have to put these flogs in their place

I'm still torn, I want to flog them, but a loss might make the board sit up and notice.....

6 in a row. A dark part of me wants to see us lose this week, so the coaching position becomes untenable. But the whole box has to go.

Worst result this weekend would be a close low scoring win where we play like sh*t but win because they aren't very good. Either smack them or lose and JLO gets the arse.

It reminds me of a Peyton Manning saying:

"Pressure is something you feel when you don’t know what the hell you’re doing"

We need to understand the game situation and roles far better and that is on the coaches.

A minor bit annoying thing that happened the last day - why did Jackson punch through that Sydney kick for a point at the end of QT? The siren was already gone. Does he not know the rules? Dumb footy game awareness. In the end it was a 3 point game - that point was actually quite valuable to Sydney.
I could see Pearce turn around to him after it happened and say “what the **** are you thinking Jacko?” And I didn’t blame him.

Ah so that's what happened. I was watching at a bar and thought Sydney punched it through and the umps were just f**king us over again.

Yeah that was inexplicably dumb from Jackson then.

Did anyone listen to that SEN broadcast with the stats guy coming up with three new metrics looking at speed of play?
Not that it should be a shock but its just so frustrating that Kingy and Cornes were just dying to hear Freos stats and sure enough, we didnt let those tossers down. Freo basically the slowest in the league for the last four years. A real indictment on our coaches.

An indictment on the coach for sure, but don't neglect the fact that Ryan and Cox are so damn slow to dispose of the ball and only want to play kick to kick between themselves.

I’ve become more and more convinced it’s instruction. They aren’t seen by the club as the best kicks in the team so don’t have the licence to kick it as aggressively as Jordan Clark. David Mundy good as said that on Monday and that’s a guy that was coached by JL two years and two games ago.

A decent coach would give everyone but Alex Pearce and Sean Darcy (when he plays) playing that more attacking kicking game. Even if the new coach was to drop anyone that makes too many mistakes playing that style in 6-8 weeks (or whatever a decent adjustment period is) I’d be willing to bet only 2-3 players at most would lose their spot. Actually trying it which we’ve never done is the first step though and I’m not sure it’s in JL to do so.
