Not sure what thread to put this in but this one is probably the most appropriate.

Does anyone else get ticked off by the amount and volume of noise and inane announcements from the ground announcer at Optus before the game and during breaks?

I am quite old, but I wouldn’t mind the volume being turned down enough so that I can have a conversation with the person next to me without having to shout and repeat myself 5 times.

Does anyone actually like it or is it just that the powers that be think that we need constant stimulation?
If it’s not what people want can’t we go to the club and ask for a review?

I think last night's game was particularly loud - I don't mind if they have the announcements and whatever but usually it's at a volume where you can chat to your mates. Yesterday's was full blown ear murder

Cheer squad is so *ing lame. Crowd was great today but why the * are you telling cheering fans to stop cheering if they’re not cheering your chant.
Are they actually doing that?

To have any right to do that they'd firstly not have to be the most boring un enthusiastic and unimaginative campaigners in the stadium.

They're an absolute joke, we cant' even get the Freo chant going around with any penetration these days.

The Millerntor holds less than 30000 people yet St Pauli home game atmosphere sh*ts all over Freos, and it starts with our lame cheer squad.

While I'm at it, if anyone from FFC is reading this, just keep Hells Bells playing until bouncedown, get the guitar guy to play along to it if need be and **** off we will rock you

Essentially there's a group at the back of the block that will chant the goal kickers name in the same tune as the FREEOOO chant for about 15 seconds after they've kicked the goal. Have been doing it every game for a few years. Always bringing energy throughout the whole game too.

Yesterday a chick from the cheersquad told them off saying something along the lines of "stop doing that chant because the whole stadium can't hear you" and "you won't be able to hear our drums" or some shit of the sort.

Just think it's ridiculous that they think they have the right to police how other people choose to cheer and celebrate the game and the goals. Literally who gave them that authority. Try to force their own chants too many times and it always falls flat. Let people feed off each other's energy instead of trying to shut them up.

They're so shit, they have no idea how to create an atmosphere yet have a go at others for trying?

Go f**k yourselves

It has certainly felt louder than usual this season. I can't even hold a conversation with someone two seats away when the announcements are being broadcast. During the pre-game I was patiently waiting for the game to start so I could actually talk to my family. My dad even took his hearing aid out at one point.

If Walters and Switta come in for Bruce and Dudley I will lose my shit. This is the best the forward line has played in years.

Side note - did anyone (and I mean anyone) predict Dudley to be this good?
No. Not at all.
It was a throw away pick on an interstate guy.

That's the second gem of a port Adelaide academy discard we now have in our best 22.

Yeh **** that Queen shit off
Play some hard core WA music , there’s plenty of it

On the Freeeeoooo , let’s hear more of it people

When they need to lift - sing it
When they’ve shot the lights out - sing it
When the opposition are feeling the pinch - sing it

When we’ve iced the game - sing the f*k out of it

I hate the unnecessary noise. That is all it is.noise.
It is that loud that it can not be understood.
I suppose it is to the young and those that want more than the football.
But I am with you, 100%

I have to disagree. I sit in block 521 ans the noise all season, and every season since we have been at Perth stadium has been horrific.I am a 80 year old and it doesm my head in,
Seriously, the noise in the braks is that bad, I can not have a conversation with my mate.
Usually during the games, our area is very quiet, and must admit sometimes I may make an idiot of my self, But I can not go to the game to barrack and yell.
Yesterday, our section was on fire. Most noise I have heard coming from the crowd ever.
I can handle that, in fact I love it, because it is about the GAME.About the FOOTBALL. The rest is just noise for noise sake.

I was hoping when Kevin Parker dropped the Freo song it would be a great opportunity to make it a 4th quarter crowd chant.

Unfortunately we've somehow managed to not make it a thing even when it was handed to us on a silver platter

I like singing it loud
Great tune , agree we should embrace it more

It's a ripper of a tune. Unfortunately, I think 80-90% of the crowd have no idea who Parker/Tame Impala is, nor how big they are on the world stage. They play it at 3/4 time and barely anyone is paying any attention to it.

I would be in agreeance on Hells Bells, however I watched a Melbourne game the other week and they played Hells Bells in full before the opening bounce at the MCG. Pretty lame for us to do the same. I would get rid of Queen and come up with something different. Purple Haze would be my choice, can't go wrong with Jimi. If the guitar man on the roof can play it properly, let him go for it.

Totally, can’t stand the fact that there is no opportunity to turn and have a chat with a neighbour regarding the game without the constant background noise. It’s all sponsorship related but I can’t stand it. Same at the Wildcats, worse actually, not a second of quiet. I think we are whistling in the wind. Sponsors pay plenty of money to bombard us constantly.

Need CCR and I’m nominating “ goin up around the bend “.

The BS officiating continues 24 hours after the game.

Oskar Baker's hit on Brayshaw should've been sent straight to the tribunal if the AFL was serious about protecting the head.
Few dogs fans I know wanted him banned for the season. 😂
One of the biggest spuds I’ve seen at this level

Don't really have anything against the dogs. But hits like this one and Houston one on Thursday night should be getting harsher punishments.

Extremely dangerous action - basically 50/50 to cause a concussion but the bans are minimal because of they were on the right side of that 50/50.

Meanwhile Mansall from Richmond is on the wrong side of an incident which happens so often for no injury and gets three weeks the 1 time in 100 it does.

If you punish the outcome rather than the action it doesn't solve anything because it's all down to luck whether you get suspended or not. If that's the case players won't change much if at all.
