To anyone who has watched football and knew about politics and boards, the latter half of 2015 was a sign it was over - but there was a massive caveat against it because the club finished top of the table.Never? Jeez then you really haven't been paying too much attention over the years. There is nothing currently happening that I haven't read on this forum sometime between the second half of 2015 and the end of 2019. Or 2005 and 2007 for that matter (although there was at least enough naivety to make it bearable back then).
The most miserable this place felt I still maintain was the back half of 2015 when it felt like we were no longer a credible flag threat and our window had slammed shut. And that was when we were on top of the f@#%ing ladder!
The 2015/16 pre season is one of the great mysteries of the FFC. We got Rock and Hale from Hawthorn. Ross went all 'hand off' in training. Players looked they had tried to learn and implement the current Hawthorn/Clarkson game plan and we came out 0-9 after finishing on top. I'd love to read about that preseaon in Ross's Biography one day.To anyone who has watched football and knew about politics and boards, the latter half of 2015 was a sign it was over - but there was a massive caveat against it because the club finished top of the table.
It was clear that Ross Lyon’s 25 favourites had been ran into the ground or were confirmed to be not very good.
The ‘but we finished top!’ rhetoric really held us back, I think it was a sign then to get a new coach and I was ardently arguing for it. the extra three years of Ross Lyon were desperate, it instilled a culture of clinging onto last year’s semi-successes, bringing in expensive and exciting trades, but also being really risk averse to bold list management and coaching changes. I can’t believe Ross Lyon stuck around for three more years.
Even if he’s gone by year’s end, we’ll be amazed Longmuir lasted past 2024.

I’d really like some honesty from the club. No more of this rubbish about the coach doing a phenomenal job, and a plan to be in finals and grand finals etc. Just some reality, ie where they’ve stuffed up, what they need to improve to be successful, what changes to the list are required etc.
brother110%Just sack the coach pretty easy. Team is actually not bad.
Stop the victim complex. Just need admin to actually do their job.
I certain agreeThe AFL is an utterly disgrace
Annnd then he’s out injured anyway.Tribunal finally overruled the MRO in a case involving a Freo player.
My vent is I don’t know how to process this turn of events!
He'd have missed the entire month with the bye, so still ahead if he comes back earlier than that.Annnd then he’s out injured anyway.
We gotta earn it moreAlmost satire when they were doing Tigers trivia during gameplay or discussing Sam Darcy being the best in the biz.
Utterly disrespectful.

Cockburn-Thornlie link is a good step forward for Perth but it's turned Optus trains into an absolute shitshow
Yeah you know what, after the 2 cockburn specials went it was pretty cruisy. Was just weird getting down to the platform with 2 trains ready and none stopping at burswood.Really? Both tonight and the Kangas game I had no problem. The only issue is the stairs at the station because for some reason everyone goes up the right side instead of using the left as well.

Yep. Squiggle's predicted ladder has us finishing 8th (GWS is 9th).I did a ladder predictor on the AFL website.
Had us winning 5 more game to get to 14 wins in total.
Saints
WCE
Carlton
Hawks
Port
That would be a good effort from here based on everything we have seen so far this year and certainly can’t be accused of being a pessimistic outlook.
Still has us finishing 9th on percentage from the suns.
Would be the first team in history to miss out on finals with 14 wins.
The nepo babies final game of the season against Essendon after round 24 (postponed from earlier) would be the one that tips us out.
It would be the most dockery thing of all time. So it’ll probably happen![]()
