Never? Jeez then you really haven't been paying too much attention over the years. There is nothing currently happening that I haven't read on this forum sometime between the second half of 2015 and the end of 2019. Or 2005 and 2007 for that matter (although there was at least enough naivety to make it bearable back then).

The most miserable this place felt I still maintain was the back half of 2015 when it felt like we were no longer a credible flag threat and our window had slammed shut. And that was when we were on top of the f@#%ing ladder!
To anyone who has watched football and knew about politics and boards, the latter half of 2015 was a sign it was over - but there was a massive caveat against it because the club finished top of the table.

It was clear that Ross Lyon’s 25 favourites had been ran into the ground or were confirmed to be not very good.

The ‘but we finished top!’ rhetoric really held us back, I think it was a sign then to get a new coach and I was ardently arguing for it. the extra three years of Ross Lyon were desperate, it instilled a culture of clinging onto last year’s semi-successes, bringing in expensive and exciting trades, but also being really risk averse to bold list management and coaching changes. I can’t believe Ross Lyon stuck around for three more years.

Even if he’s gone by year’s end, we’ll be amazed Longmuir lasted past 2024.

The 2015/16 pre season is one of the great mysteries of the FFC. We got Rock and Hale from Hawthorn. Ross went all 'hand off' in training. Players looked they had tried to learn and implement the current Hawthorn/Clarkson game plan and we came out 0-9 after finishing on top. I'd love to read about that preseaon in Ross's Biography one day.

Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse. Here's this for some doom-scroling.

Listening to the young fella's pod, feeding into the worrying reports regarding Jackson.

Edit: This could all just be scuttlebutt while the all eyes are on the Freo turmoil. I say this because its most likely true but mainly wanted to say "scuttlebutt".

I’d really like some honesty from the club. No more of this rubbish about the coach doing a phenomenal job, and a plan to be in finals and grand finals etc. Just some reality, ie where they’ve stuffed up, what they need to improve to be successful, what changes to the list are required etc.
🙏 brother

Just sack the coach pretty easy. Team is actually not bad.

Stop the victim complex. Just need admin to actually do their job.
110%

It all starts here and honestly nearly finishes here.

I can’t stress enough from players stagnating to players playing below there best to players wanting out …it almost ALL ends if we sack this failure of a coach and get someone decent and start playing some exciting WINNING football.

How many times is it said (and you only need to look up the road for proof) winning pretty much covers up all issues

3 games for Pearce is utter cack. It's diabolical the treatment of the Dockers; other clubs get off with various incidents and are allowed to get away with all sorts of shenanigans with the soft cap. Atrocious outcome, yet they'll turn the other cheek when it's the Magpies or the ilk.

Yet let's just always penalise the Dockers because they're not one of the favourite sons. F*** you AFL, you're nothing but corrupt gutless snotfaced rat-toothed gimp-licking tackle-wackle arsetards

gotta say, Pearce rubbed out for 3 weeks probably kills our season, regardless of how well we were or weren't performing. not available again until R16 counting the BYE.

it's an absolute joke when you consider the Maynard bump on Angus Brayshaw that ended his career copped less and the arguments are the same: he was unable to pull out because he was mid-air when he realised the collision was unavoidable

it was a total football act, has eyes only for the ball. even tries to pull his shoulder/arm away at the last nanosecond.

Pearce one of the cleanest players in the comp and i know it's Dockery of me but can't help but think this is some true bastardry from the MRO

i'm livid

Honestly this match committee just makes no sense!
We’ve played really well, and found a structure that’s worked, and we go and throw it all in the bin to pick a couple of guys coming off long term injuries in the wet!
We are far too tall, and are going to be absolutely screwed in wet weather!
FFS.

That commentary of the Essendon v Freo game was putrid. So Essendon centric that it was enough to make anyone vomit.
Pav is an idiot, should never be allowed anywhere near a Freo game ever again. Why can't this clown just call the game as it happens rather than speculating about free kicks that the opposition should have got etc.

Cockburn-Thornlie link is a good step forward for Perth but it's turned Optus trains into an absolute shitshow

Really? Both tonight and the Kangas game I had no problem. The only issue is the stairs at the station because for some reason everyone goes up the right side instead of using the left as well.

Yeah you know what, after the 2 cockburn specials went it was pretty cruisy. Was just weird getting down to the platform with 2 trains ready and none stopping at burswood.

I did a ladder predictor on the AFL website.
Had us winning 5 more game to get to 14 wins in total.
Saints
WCE
Carlton
Hawks
Port

That would be a good effort from here based on everything we have seen so far this year and certainly can’t be accused of being a pessimistic outlook.

Still has us finishing 9th on percentage from the suns.
Would be the first team in history to miss out on finals with 14 wins.
The nepo babies final game of the season against Essendon after round 24 (postponed from earlier) would be the one that tips us out.

It would be the most dockery thing of all time. So it’ll probably happen 🙁

Yep. Squiggle's predicted ladder has us finishing 8th (GWS is 9th).

I think we just need to focus on consistent, 120 minute performances and the ladder position will sort itself out.

Yeah, but we will beat Brisbane too.
I have a feeling Collingwood game we will draw.
