IMHO…. Our midfield doesn’t function when Serong isn’t there (or tagged); We have 3-4 players who play out of their skins each week and the rest are glorified pigeons. Cox and Darcy are too slow; Our defence is shite; and Amiss needs to re-watch his draft tapes to learn how to kick goals.
Can't disagree, looking like a player who is too good for WAFL but not good enough for AFL. Glad we recruited Reid and Simpson, Walls seems to have a sense for players who fall below their predicted draft pick. Erasmus was a reach and in hindsight totally a response to Cerra leaving after we had a few other players leave. At least we aren't leaking players any more (sorry wrong thread)

It's so easy. Chuck a body on Serong and the entire midfield crumbles. Gotta be the easiest team to figure out. Haven't played a good game since before the bye.

Not just Sydney. Happens week on week. Rarely get over double digits.
Been on the record saying that I hate having to rely on other results and want us to be fully in control of our own destiny, but JFC does it sting knowing that we are going to miss out on finals again because of another ridiculously close season of competition.
Who knows what two extra finals campaign worth of experience could have done for this club and playing list. Two seasons of "almost" in a row, then down the drain - can't help but feel it'll spell more bad news to come.
I guess that's just our luck.

9th and missing the finals 3 years straight since 2022 would be worse than those Connolly years between 03 and 06.

I’m really starting to fear that this group doesn’t have it in them to find the next level.
We thought Jackson would be the answer we then thought Bolton was the missing piece but unfortunately we can’t find that next level.
Also I’m just going to say it Brayshaw has a gut and doesn’t look as lean as a true professional should be. In saying that he is still playing good football.

Maybe it's the personnel but I'm not that impressed with Joel Corey as our midfield coach. I feel that even with Serong getting taken out of the game we should have enough size and grunt in there to be more competitive. It shows you that we are desperately reliant on Hayden Young and the idea that we have the luxury to move him to HB are too optimistic.
