I’d be all on board for bringing in Starcevich and McVee in the off season. We just have to improve our ball use out of the back half.

Good teams dont make the errors by foot that we saw from Banfield Pearce and Worner today. This kind of thing has been haunting us since the days of Tommy Sheridan 10 years ago. It has just never been properly resolved.

Then we have guys like NOD and Erasmus who are also weak in this area and even our premium mids like Serong and brayshaw spray it by foot a lot. The critical mass is reached so quickly then and it’s just too many poor users in one team.

The team never has control of a game because there is always a stupid error from an errant kick just waiting to happen with the guys mentioned above. Reckon we conceded 30 points from these kind of errors today.

Things didn't improve all night and I agree the Coldplay song is whimsical rather than exciting.

My old man didn't make it (2013 was his only chance).and he took me to the first Derby. I'm not near 60 but I'm not too far off given im a bottom age GenX. I now gravely share the same concerns.

I'm not sure if some our our younger fans realise what a curse this club can be. You just wait and wait and wait and wait for something...

I’m a younger fan (27), but have been a member since birth, the old man has indoctrinated me, and he certainly shares the same concerns about not making it (he’s 56)… we’ve been waiting and waiting. My Grandad is 88 and a huge Freo fan too, he’s still going well, but at 88 he would want it to happen soon (At least he’s a big East’s man and saw the glory days down there).

For a fleeting moment in 2013 when I was in year 10 at school, it looked like it would happen, then again in 2015 and we were let down.

Who knows man? Maybe we’re genuinely destined not to win one at all? It’s a horrible feeling. I’d hate it if GC or GWS snag one before us… the AFL Nepo Babies.

Honestly I think it’s better if the dogs win by 100 points tomorrow.
Need to get realistic here - the eagles aren’t winning this game and if they were to take it up to the dogs and give them a tough game the bulldogs might be less inclined to have some complacency set in during the week.

Whatever happens elsewhere we have to win next week. I think that will secure us a home elimination final if we can do that.

I’ve had my own cult heroes over the years and was aware of their limitations, Kepler and Chinkley to name a few so I won’t begrudge others taking a particular liking for him, but to gift him this many games is part of the problem we have and may ultimately be JLo’s demise, his other shortcomings notwithstanding.
Bailey is a nice guy and visits sick children at the hospital, great. Give him an ambassadorial role but GET HIM OUT OF THE ****ING TEAM. I don’t give a **** how well he can play at Peel (on a rare occasion he’s dropped last few years), this guy reached his ceiling long ago and you won’t get more than mediocre performance very often. Unfortunately the way it’s going, he will end up playing over 200 games for this club.

Organic growth from the group won’t bridge the gap I saw between these two teams last night. We need to be active in the trade period.
