Can't fault him for wanting to GENUINELY want to be close to family. Was offered good coin from us aswell. And went about it the right way for fans.

I respect what you say. I get it. Totally do. I just can't buy that feeling or sentiment.
Different personality types I guess.
I'm just GC GC GC to such an extreme it's probably a fault of mine.

No I get it too. Part of me holds a grudge against any player who leaves the club I'm passionate about but if they're a good footballer and leave in a respectful manner Ill be happy to see them achieve a little success just not in a granny and not against the sun's.

I'm kind of with the Bods on this one
In an era of professional sports you have to accept player movement and sure Dion went about it in the right way
However I don't think it's wrong as a passionate supporter to hope for some Schadenfraude when it comes to Richmond success
Move if you miss mummy and daddy but don't expect us to put on yellow and black scarves and sing your new Club song
I think that's getting too close to cuckold for mine

I don't like players leaving us, especially when we make them fair offers and we want them to stay. Even if they are a nice person or a thorough professional.
It's still a rejection of club, community, members, fans etc.
And it makes not hanging around and going the hard road to building our club look rewarding to anyone else flirting with the idea.

Your parochialism doesn't surprise me.

What are your thoughts on the Suns delisting Hallahan, Grant, Davis etc? Trained hard, played as best they can but we gave them the flick. If this was some other industry you'd probably be spouting that they were taking meals off the tables of some hard working tradies or some such shit. You might not think they worked hard enough but I bet they drained the tank to play.

Get a grip mate.

The Sandy Toes response #3882 probably puts it best for me.
I don't wish anything unkind however I'm not doing cartwheels for him either.

Understood, I probably went a bit hard there. Your passion is admirable but is often very negative.

Dion is a good player and deserves the reward he gets for his hard work. If we can do the same through the team we will net similar results.

When we are not down the bottom of the ladder, periodically flogged by over 100, not referred to as a plastic club by opposition fans and no longer have our very existence in the AFL under threat I promise hand on heart that I will make a massive shift towards positivity

I must endeavour to say something positive more regularly though to shake this perception off of me a bit.

Holy mackerel how did I become the Willem Dafoe character in Platoon

Oh that's unbelievably rough

I need to lie down after seeing that.

The irony is I've never attacked a fellow Suns contributor on here but have copped plenty of fire my way.

This Is Outrageous!!!

Now back to why I originally logged in:
I wanted to say I sure hope the Ugly Ducks put the boot royally into Essendon now, can't stand it that The Needles are back in the finals already. Dish out the pain please Ducks.

Not for me. I couldn't stand the thought of a side we've never conquered at least once winning the flag. Richmond gives me hope that for us it isn't impossible.
Richmond gives me hope too. 18th in tackles last year and 4 less per game than 17th....
That's us this year
