Much of a muchness. You have to be special to be drafted, you either have what it takes or you don't.

Not that long ago there wasn't a draft age limit if I remember correctly? 90s?

Someone like Sean Lemmens benefitted hugely from missing a spot on an AFL list. Went back to the SANFL and changed from a forward to defence. Essentially a ready made player by the time he got on our list. Had he been drafted earlier he may have been persisted with up forward somewhere until he was delisted.
 
What would the AFL do season 2014 and then 2015 if Essendon Football Club had a large majority of their players banned for 1-2 years.

Surely the AFL would have considered what they might have to do if the worst happened.

Did I watch it too quickly and not listen properly or did David King say we are down on contested possession? Yet we are the best in the competition regardless of playing less games than a few clubs...

What the **** am I missing here or is David King just a buffoon like I thought?

nope you did not hear wrong. He said there's some team really failing hear (meaning) at contested possession over the last month and then named north melbourne essendon and the Gold Coast suns.

Will Gary Ablett be our only AA this year? I think prestia, swallow, omeara and lynch could make the (40? man) squad but don't think they are best 22 just yet

I think he meant GWS not us, this happens wwwwwaaaayyyyy to often and is an indication of how Vic orientated the whole football media is. Not likely to change anytime soon.
