Wouldn't the MCG ANZAC game be kinda hard to get into? I kinda figured that would be a hot ticket.
They generally sell out within the first few days, but the re-release which doesnt quite sell out, 3 days before

I know I can be a bit doom and gloom from time to time but we seriously need to get our shit together ASAP. Many of our young guns are restricted free agents next year and even more the year after. If we aren't showing a significant up swing soon I can see many of these guys looking for greener pastures

Smith played every single game for us last year mostly in Reserves. We showed some good stuff before injury woes once again stifled the team. But I do get the impression that free agency will cause some salt in the wound, although I am left wondering who would be interested in getting any of our heavily injury prone players. And if they'll suddenly become more awesome and less injury prone once they're at another club (notably, one thing I have noticed from Smith at Geelong is that he seems to be getting on the park more often than when he was at the Suns, hmm).
That's because they are and we are fielding half a NEAFL team ATM.Geelong cats look like a team of battle hardened big footballers
Our Suns look like 16yr old schoolgirls compared to them.
Minus O'Meara and Swallow.
Didn't see the game but champion data has Zac Smith 120 and Sam Jacobs 79 tonight, for whatever that's worth.Smith played every single game for us last year mostly in Reserves.
Apart from the major knee injury (purely bad luck) he was virtually never injured.
DT points has Jacobs 108 Smith 80.Didn't see the game but champion data has Zac Smith 120 and Sam Jacobs 79 tonight, for whatever that's worth.
More to do with development failure. DT is akin to NEAFL stats.DT points has Jacobs 108 Smith 80.
I don't know why people think Smith is an example of the club player recruitment failures. Smith quit the club and asked for trade he was offered a contact by GCFC.
He rejected that because he didn't want to compete for his position at GC. So he chose to go to a club with no Rucks and would have zero competition for his position and would get a game pretty much regardless of how little he does.
Are you suggesting Primus is not a good Ruck Coach . LOLMore to do with development failure. DT is akin to NEAFL stats.
Primus couldn't teach a dog to bark. Are you suggesting Primus is not a good Ruck Coach . LOL
Anyway l think you might find the AAAAA midfield at his feet is grossly overinflating his performances.
Another way to look at is 2 out of 3 ain't badI share a birthday with Ablett and Boomer.... I'm destined for footy greatness.... Gold Coast I'm all yours don't waste this lottery ticket

yep, would agree with this. i've never been a fan of our guernsey, looks real basic. majority of professional sporting clubs don't have their main logo plastered front and centre on their shirt/guernsey.Is it time to dump our gurnsey, it has the stank of failure all over it, maybe a Power style reboot could break the stench and allow us to start tp heal, thoughts?
Think it's best to just scrap all expectations at this point and take any improvement we can.13th on the ladder and heading downwards..
Wouldn't expect a win til atleast round 15 after looking at the draw :/
Would stopping going backwards at such a huge rate of knots qualify as Improvement. We can't even claim that at the momentThink it's best to just scrap all expectations at this point and take any improvement we can.
If you add the 12 to 15 of the best 22 missing and playing injured into that team it is a completely different team. Completely different and unrecognisable to yesterday's team. We are in just as bad a position or worst player availability wise as Essendon.Until the Ashcroft/Clayton regime has been removed from the club, I'm not sure when the ship will turn around? How can they not come out and acknowledge that a change of direction is required? Half our players cant get the ball or tackle...we have got a list build issue.
I don't think it's necessary a culture or coaching issue anymore, this got resolved 12-18 months ago. Performances have been there, the coaching has been there. Only a month ago we beat one of the best clubs of the past few years, and one of the best coaches of the past decade - irrespective of form in Freo. I'm hanging onto that for now. I don't put so much heat on the playing group as a whole, because I think the majority "try". I just don't think we have enough footballers.
Oh I agree completely. BUT after our best 20 or so - the next 20 players on our list cant tackle or get the ball! Hence why I have been frustrated for a couple years on the players we recruit/list management. If you add the 12 to 15 of the best 22 missing and playing injured into that team it is a completely different team.
