Sorry guys just some advice.
Got booked by our Council revenue raisers at Bowaggin yesterday. Parked on grass 100 meters West of entry for quick getaway.
Ticket offence reads
'On defined nature strip or footpath in Built up Area. '
I'm seriously considering contesting it.
One l don't believe it's a built up area (no residential for Kms) and also no Signs and it's hardly a nature strip or footpath. It's a bit of grass by the side of the Road in the middle of nowhere.
Thoughts?

Contest it. The only reason those campaigners were even there was because they knew the game was on. ****ing grubs.

Am l the only person that thinks that if the Demons play finals Roos may decided to renege on his agreement to walk away, ala Malthouse

Do you check out the Rumor and Scandal board? There's a thread of Roos to Collingwood in 2018. It's been mentioned he's moving to Hawaii after the season and Buckley contract ends after 2017.

Of course it could all be BS but I'm a sucker for a good rumor.
 
We must of knocked back Cameron Ling for a coaching role or one of our players must of sleeper with his missus because I've never known him to be so negative.
For the 3rd consecutive week Ling has had a go at our club and tonight he's said Prestia,O'Meara and swollow need to get away from our club as soon as they can before we destroy their careers

Were they his exact words? Lingy is a flog however.

I saw it and while the words may not be quite right the intention was. Carey was nodding in the back ground as well

I rate Carey's views on most clubs and he has always got a hint of "lets keep thing in perspective, and not get too carried away" about his anslysis... but his treatment of the Suns this year has been bordering on Scandalous! It's like he doesn't realise we have 20 injuries.. he thinks we have like 4 or 5 on the injury list...
I think all those Vico flogs have deep harboured resentment for the concessions we have got and it doesnt come out when we or GWS are going well but when we are losing Carey can't wait to sink the boot in and ignor all evidence as to why we are losing games..
Cant wait for the Suns to stick it up "(the King" (of infidelity)

Have previously said all respect 4 Lingy as a player, zero respect as a commentator. Ch7 delights in having controversial commentators, read any1 who makes headlines (mostly in a negative way).

Funny thing is Carey was all over Lynchy in the first few rounds then started slamming Suns and quoting Cameron as his #1 forward.

Tonight again highlighted the game winning aspect of winning the ball in the middle and getting inside 50's.

Losing 36/60 inside 50's once again highlights the you are stuffed if this continues!

Kennedy kicked 5.1 and May was named in the best players. Tells a story!!
 
Can I just book mark this point in time, since round 5 (5 weeks) we have been hanging our collective hat on all the injuries we have. Once the vast majority of players are back post the bye and we are not performing what is going to be our excuse then?

1. The guys haven't played together
2. Collective confidence is down
3. Our skills are still shit 6 years into the journey

Feel free to and other options

Yeah 1-3 is about right. I actually cringed a little bit when Cochrane stated we'd improve dramatically in the second half of the year and give the wannabe finalists a shake. We might pick up a couple of late wins at home but all I can see is pain and more pain ahead. Some of those turnovers yesterday were worse than what we dished up in 2011.
First thing I'd do offseason is poach GWS's kicking coach.
 
I actually appreciated Cochrane's truthful words a little while ago. Basically, we're in for the long haul, the Suns simply won't establish themselves until a few decades. Sydney are established, but they've been around for decades now. Port Adelaide and Fremantle have the benefit of existing in states that genuinely love AFL football as a whole (even then, they're still struggling with similar issues to us albeit to a lesser degree); it will take a good while for the Giants, the Suns, and the Lions to integrate themselves fully into the game and build a proper following within their own respective states.

As for Wayne Carey, honestly, his opinion means nothing. He was a great footballer, but I remember the guy said Sam Mitchell would never get a game at any other club. He retracted his statement, of course - but only after being mercilessly called out on how dumb an opinion it was. Basically, his insights are worthless. As for Ling, he's just jumping on the bandwagon - the Suns being an easy target at the moment - other clubs have been where we are: Melbourne, Carlton, and even the Hawks have all been where we are currently - hell, it's not like Geelong was always sunshine and rainbows during his playing career, in fact I recall it being considered a bit of a circus for a few years before they got their crap together in 2007.

Anyway. We're crap at the moment. But we'll get better, eventually.
