Look - I want Prestia to re-sign with us - I think he is a brilliant player. But it pissed me off last year big time that we played Caddy all year, basically just to keep the little Mammas boy happy .. then he pissed off anyway. Time to play hardball wuth Prestia rather than let the same situation fester all year.

Give it til mid year before we start making these calls on him. For all you know he could be etching a contract out at the moment.

dees - we should win
bulldogs - they may be struggling but they can put up a good fight.

Getting really sick of all the shit posted about us and GWS on other boards about being Franchises, gifted everything, our senior players are mercs etc. Especially from posters from clubs who are or at least not so long ago basket-cases. (eg Melbourne / Port). If our draft concessions are so unfair and we should give them back why shouldn't other clubs give back all their first round choices received over the last 10 years? How on earth were we and GWS supposed to be competitive receiving just one first round pick each year. We would both be perpetually at the bottom with no hope of success ever.

Also sick of certain commentators - Gerard Healy for one - although what some of what he says is truthful and constructive criticism he should be more understanding we have teams of kids. Alastair Lynch is the only one who has any knowledge of our side and gives us a fair go.

Finally **** cane toads. My pooch must've licked one last night and nearly died today. Cost me $800 at the vets to save him.

That's my vent.

Look forward to smashing all these other pricks In the future (and cane toads too).

It is a bit rich to be ripping a club apart who are entering their 3rd AFL season. Does anyone really expect GCS to be smashing it every week.

I honestly believe that GCS will succeed. It will not happen overnight but they are heading in the right direction and will make the doubters eat their words.

that commentator was crap. ignored us, concentrated on port. from what ive seen of the bad coverage of of the suns on the various footy shows, and during live games...WE NEED THE SUNS VERSION OF ED TV!!

...and whats with our ball handling? we cant pick it up and when we do we have no one running onto it. our support play around loose ball was uncoordinated and a blind panic. thats all that beat us. bad ball handling, support play, and some flukey goals from port.

i love our intensity and commitment though. we have the hardest part NAILED!

ironically, it was ports really good display of 'attacking handpassing' (running onto the ball) that highlighted just how bad we were at it. also, port picked up loose ball very well and showed more maturity by being intense, without being in a panic or rush. what they did really well at, highlighted for me what we were not doing well.

we would really work hard for our meters gained. we expended large amounts of energy in doing so, but often just couldn't finish because of poor ball control. port were so good in taking the ball back to our 50 with less effort, and often converted that into points.

our fitness is really showing. we must have worked 20% harder than port and we still came home strong. i really cant find too many things to dislike at this point. we were just beaten by an experienced team who are playing very well as a team...

we would have out hustled other teams on the day, despite our poor ball control.

you gotta love how hard these kids are trying. anyone who doubts blueys coaching ability needs a shrink. those boys have such a great foundation in fitness, commitment, intensity, and a will to win. that is what the coach creates. it is he that creates an environment that encourages players to want to give everything. the players are definitely giving it.

Awesome 1st and really good 3rd and 4th quarters but that 2nd one was so frustrating and shocking that I'm not even going to talk about it.

There is nothing worse than having to sit in behind two granny's that think they know footy because they lived in Melbourne for x amount of years then constantly badmouth the team and sprout nonsense. I do not appreciate being told that I cannot encourage Rory when he gets interchanged off because he doesn't deserve it. Made me so mad.

I don't care how old you are or how long you've been watching the game, If or how long you lived in Melbourne and I certainly couldn't care less what past his prime coach would do a better job than the "Idiotic" McKenna (Overheard words definitely not mine) but do nothing but blindly and continuously be overly negative towards the players and coaches of this club then I'm going to call you out on it, Yes we had a bad game tonight. That's the nature of sports but come on people we need to band together and get behind our guys weather we are winning by a couple of points or down by 40 like tonight. I'm sick to death about all of the negativity, It's got to stop.

Seriously, Some of these "supporters" need to quit the wine and go home to do some knitting, Some of the crap I overheard tonight was disgraceful.

Decided to have a read of you guys' thoughts and give a Port perspective because it beats watching ABC24 or the latest infomercial for the AbGasm.

All the non-Vic clubs have gone through it. It sucks. Even in our own state we get torn down and derided as 'Port Power' and get accused of everything from being five minutes old, to 'stealing the real Port's history/identity' to rorting the system to get second-generation players Warren Tredrea and Peter Burgoyne.

Start humiliating the old guard and it will die down and ramp up in equal measure.

Screw'em, you know who you are and that's ultimately all that matters.

It must've been frustrating, I hate when it happens to us, but the main perpetrators - Schulz, Wingard and Hartlett - are insanely skilled by foot and do that pretty much every week. Dead-eyed dicks.

If the likes of Cassisi or O'Shea started dobbing them from all angles or 55m out I'd be right there beside you with the 'oh GTFO' and '*...*'.

I must admit that despite coming off a 6-day break to your 7 and playing away from home it was surprising how gassed we were compared to you guys. The impact of ex-Liverpool fitness guru Darren Burgess on our resurgence has been well-documented and that was the first final quarter we've lost all year. Was also impressed with your determination even with the game gone. I'm glad Hinkley will have a lot of film to show any expanding heads.

It goes without saying that if you can tighten up after quarter time and stay within striking distance with 30-40 minutes left you'll run over a lot of sides up there.

I guess half the NSW NRL teams should fold as well then. I think the pro-NRL Courier Mail sometimes forget that the Broncos are the exception rather than the rule as far as membership and game attendances go in the NRL.
