Any chance that some of the guys who the club now know about have had their papers stamped at the selection table?

It's not beyond comprehension sadly
If it was true it certainly is a sign of a very different Club culture
I may have to consider starting a crowdfunding page for a Rocket bronze for out front of Metricon one of these days

Can't say I've really paid much mind to Brown when commentating during our games in the past but I guess I'll never not notice it now

I used to think Browny was a top Bloke but ever since he's been in the Media he's take every opportunity to have a pot shot at the Suns or one of our players. Turned into a bit of a one sided flog really. Think Eddie but with less influence.
He's toned it down a little bit of late but his attack on Gaz last year was ill-informed and unwarranted. He actually comes out with some insightful comments at times but you would think after playing his entire career up here he could be more positive towards QLD footy and both of its AFL clubs.

I think I'll be the one to defend Browny here, I don't really see any of his anti-Suns sentiment. Yeah, I didn't like his attack on Gaz last year, but that wasn't because Gary was a a Suns player, it's just the way he played the game. Remember that he's the guy that got ran over by a car and the car was in a worse position than he was. I like him for his pro-QLD club sentiments. I think he's also a fantastic commentator.

I really struggle to understand why people think it's a big deal that players own investment properties in Melbourne. The fastest growing capital city in Australia is a good place to invest - especially if it's your home town.

What we're hearing here in Melb is doom and gloom. Properity has peaked.. Now slowly losing its value.. To buy in Melbourne now.. Makes no sense.
I'm hearing the Gold Coast is as good as any place to invest at the moment.

i'm certainly no expert, but the gold coast certainly is growing quickly. with the coomera town centre going ahead, there's shitloads of residential estates out that way. it's not the most desirable area, but there's plenty of area for development and investment. the second stage of the light rail is gonna boost values of the new residential estates at arundel and helensvale too.

Yep. Remember when Dion bought a property down there before he signed his last contract IIRC. Doesnt mean anything except they are being smart with their money. If I had that kind of money and no uni debt crippling my future :) Id do the same. Although maybe not in Melbourne these days.

I think the Commonwealth games has seen a lot of investment here. The creation of work has seen somewhat of a rental crisis occur. Very hard to get a lease.

If he bought in Melbourne 2 -3 years ago he'd make 1/4 of his investment back in profit.. Today's market.. There's no money in it.. Unless sometime sooner rather then later.. You live in it yourself.
Melbourne and Sydney are 30-40% over priced due in the main to significant Chinese investment. The Chinese govenment changes to how much money can now be taken out of China and the glut of high rise apartments is a disaster waiting to happen. Not a big deal if you own a home but it will stimy capital growth. I wouldn't be buying an apartment anytime soon either

With Port Adelaide expanding into China

Maybe the Suns should look into figures/data of where most international guests come from who visit Gold Coast and push towards that city or Country

Whether it be Ireland New Zealand New York South Africa Japan etc

Get them to think while I'm in the GC I must go see the Gold Coast Suns play AFL etc :D
More fans the more money for the club.
A stronger club

this is all i think about now when i see the word china.

interesting move. lots of investment coming from china, may as well try and see if they'll get involved in our sports too.

Just found myself looking at a thread on the north board, many seem to be planing losses in advance.. For a side 3-0 there is a lot of doom and gloom going on. Many seem to be pencilling in a loss next week already.
To be honest I think they look the best I've seen them look for a while

The North of a couple of seasons ago would've lost on the weekend

HAHAHA holy ****, I was in stitches from about 60 seconds in

What's everyone's thoughts on the Port Adelaide China deal ?.
Hearing Rumours Gold Coast are interested in playing over there. Thing that pisses me off is that it would be one of our home game

We should get on the Port Adelaide bandwagon as the second team mainly because red and gold colours the Chinese represent with prosperity and luck. We could steal the majority of supporters to us instantly
