Nah I think that's about right - i believe it's a privilege to play for the club, and professional sport in general. It's not a right. The previous performance was disrespectful to themselves, their team mates, club staff, sponsors, their family, members and fans. Nobody earned their pay last week in my opinion - perfect punishment.I don't know if this has been mentioned already but did anyone hear what Peter 'Spida' Everitt had to say about the Suns (and Titans) on the radio this morning? He said the Suns players didn't look like they were hurting enough after losses and specifically slammed Gary for being jovial with his ex-teammates after the game. He also said his team (either St Kilda or Hawthorn) faced a very similar situation in the early 2000s and the club told the players that they didn't deserve to be paid that week and asked them to all donate that week's salary to charity. They all agreed to donate their money and the following week they won.
Too harsh for the Suns or is something similar necessary to create a sense of urgency among the playing group?
Seems pretty fair to me.Too harsh for the Suns or is something similar necessary to create a sense of urgency among the playing group?
They're after page clicks. Not fairness.its a bit rich having all the media focus on Gaz from the honesty session for christs sakes, there are plenty of passengers week in and week out that cant even get into double figures for possessions or hit a target - would like to hear more about them getting their ass into gear
I do feel sorry for Mckenzie Willis. One game in and he's wishing he had that NEAFL bye instead of playing his first game.its a bit rich having all the media focus on Gaz from the honesty session for christs sakes, there are plenty of passengers week in and week out that cant even get into double figures for possessions or hit a target - would like to hear more about them getting their ass into gear
Exactly l'm far more worried about Miller, Kolo, Lonegran, Martin, Lemmens, Malcesky, Harbrow, McKenzie, Matera and Nichols all of which l believe can output far far more than they are. The big question for me is why? What has/is happening to these players.?its a bit rich having all the media focus on Gaz from the honesty session for christs sakes, there are plenty of passengers week in and week out that cant even get into double figures for possessions or hit a target - would like to hear more about them getting their ass into gear
Can I suggest the Iva Bigun retirement and debaucary fund. All donations welcome and its tax deductible...........ishI don't know if this has been mentioned already but did anyone hear what Peter 'Spida' Everitt had to say about the Suns (and Titans) on the radio this morning? As would of catch this as a panicked player is put on the spot and sprays a comment much like there kicksIf it was a true full on honesty session then "you can't kick" would've been thrown around a bit.
The 2016 player salary cap sits at just over $10m so we're talking about around 20k being donated to charity. Can I suggest the Iva Bigun retirement and debaucary fund. All donations welcome and its tax deductible...........ish
Spida said the fans travel and pay to see these guys play so if they don't want to give them their money's worth then they don't deserve to be paid.Nah I think that's about right - i believe it's a privilege to play for the club, and professional sport in general. Alternatively some brutal physical punishment would have helped also - 2 minute ice bath's neck deep starting at 3am for every goal we lost by? 400m run for every goal we lost by?
Loled, so close to the truth but I am sure the next honesty session after humiliation 5 will be really really harsh.....really.... Like totes severe....ishplayer 1: You can't kick "insert nickname of player 2"
player 2: Neither can you, at least I beat you in the time trial
player 1: you didn't run very hard on the weekend (insert player 2 name)
player 2: I was cramping
player 1: pretty weak
player 2: yeah
That took 2 Hours...lets go get a soy mocchachino farken frappe and check our swept hair to one side in the mirror together.
Twitter abuse harsh I reckon...maybe snapchat from each other's lounge roomLoled, so close to the truth but I am sure the next honesty session after humiliation 5 will be really really harsh.....really.... Like totes severe....ish
Wednesday's are the players 1 day off for the week. Give them a break.
Day off.. From what.. Being a laughing stock of the league..
Shouldn't be such thing of a day off after a performance like last week
I just feel being a troll to our players on twitter is pretty low Ben.
You are right.
I'm in a bad spot.
My apologies. Tweet deleted.
