It could defiently be a coachs thing but it looks like a lack of communication thing to me, both our tall targets are always in the same spots, and it enables 2MPs defender to zone off and lynchy is playing 2 on 1 or 3 on 1 most the time

Agree. He's definitely down on confidence as well and l've heard he's a gentle giant and confidence is a big issue with him.

I would play 2MP deep for the rest of the year, he stays in the F50 all game, and just let him lead hard. He has built a good tank so he can do that all day.
Lynchy can fly for marks from the 50 onwards and then either have a shot at goal or set big pete up on a lead.
That would work a lot better with AhChee, Benny and Fish at their feet
 
Vent and Off topic...A pretty good thread for this.

I just heard on the AFL site that poor Hawthorn are blaming the travel factor for their showing in Adelaide... with Clarko saying "2 interstate trips on a 6 day break is a pretty tough ask"
Give me a f***ing break....
Interstate teams are doing this regularly and I don't see any negative comments from the VIC media about this, only things like, "you want to be part of the comp, deal with it"
Of their 1st 9 games Hawthorn had 6 in Melbourne, 2 in Tassie (their choice) and 1 at Metricon.... then they had Sydney and Adelaide off a 6 day break....boo bl**dy hoo!:'(:'(:'(:'(:'(:'(

A team like the Eagles in their 1st 9 games played the 1st 2 in Melb, then went home for the next, and then after a 6 day break went back to Melb, and bugger me if they didn't go back to Melb for their next game...and all we get from the Vic media is "they're flat track bullies, can't win away from home". Travel doesn't even get a mention.


They and Freo travel more than anyone but get no support from the VIC media. Hawthorn play interstate(Syd and Adel an hrs flight to both) twice off a 6 day break and "it's the travel factor" and it affected our performance.

As I said earlier......give me a f***ing break

Well that bloody sucks just noticed because Ablett missed the Melbourne game last week he's gone from playing his 300 games at Metricon vs Carlton to playing it at Etihad vs St Kilda

Oh that sucks, am going to the Carlton game for my first game at Metricon, would've been a great experience to witness Gary's 300th
 
Also, did anyone speak to Maysie at the function, would be good to hear his thoughts on the game, where we are going and most importantly his future at the club?

Come to think of it I don't think May was at the post match function. 99% of the players were there but didn't see May
 
Maysie was there. Got absolutely swamped by the kids chasing autographs on the basketball court side of the room. Didn't ask him any questions, just congratulated him on a good game and pleaded with him not to leave us. He laughed which made my desperation seem
not so awkward :thumbsu:

Even Gaz was there. First members event he has been to in a while. Still as popular as ever with the kids.

Had a good tour through the new digs. It's all very impressive. Boys all very happy after 2 big wins.

Get real - got his autograph . Funny how Sexton. Harbrow , Thompson , Joyce , Scheer, Bowes ,Spencer all attracted a crowd... ?
And yes Gaz attracted the most...

More an autograph session for the kids- and some weird middle aged supporters who were elbowing kids out of the way?WTF people?
Players were gonna need ice baths for their wrists after that
Only one I didn't see was Saady
Fishy had a moonboot on but said it would be fine- tough little bugger

I saw a blonde kid about 10yo with a number 26 Broughton guernsey
Way to stand out from the crowd - piss on those Ablett Lynch May and Swallow losers :D

A little kid asked him what number he was and he said "Number 1.It used to be Jaeger O'Meara.Would you prefer him?"
And the little kid said"I don't know who he is"
