It's the general public too though. Sportsbet FB page posted an image of a circle around the coast and an arrow pointing to Tasmania as a way to fix the club.

Not sure how it works as a solution, but so funny... Ha..

Yeah all that has to happen is the Coach does a fart at a press conference and Out come the haters with the "Gold Coast is a graveyard in all codes and they should die" when it comes to newspaper comments.
It's mainly Brisbane people as they have their own agenda in having our city as a feeder for them.

Some idiot opinionist journo said something and now they all follow like sheep.
I can understand Tasmania crying out for an Afl team but realistically the Gold Coast is the 6th largest city in Australia and rapidly growing. Also our work with the north of qld fulfills a much needed link to a geographically huge part of the country with strong indigenous ties. Add to that all the talent that is starting to come from qld. Then recent stars such as zorko, beams, riewoldt and others, that hail from the Sunshine state.
Our onfield performance may be sub par but we are a vital link to the future of the competition for development, growth and finance.

Can't see Tasmania being more successful offield. Sure might have a greater percentage of the population of tassie throwing thier support but with a split between north and south they still don't stand a chance against the United gold Coast Community.

Also should point out the China game much to our embarrassment as to the onfield performance and organisation, was our doing. Yes port will say they've been pushing that market but our sponsorship with Chinese investors was clearly the tipping point to get an actual H&A Game in shanghai. Can't see Tasmania pulling that off. Best they can do is maybe expand to Antarctica.

The whole Tasmania thing is usually spruiked by supporters of Clubs that hear it about themselves- North/Melbourne/StKilda
Knuckle draggers spouting that have no idea about what the AFL is trying to achieve
They didn't build us a stadium and bankroll us because they felt sorry for all us poor deprived AFL fans on the Coast- it's to grow the game
Tasmania will never get an AFL Club

They are AFLheartland and will be that way forever
And no-one's dumping a major league rugby/league/soccer club there for competition - ever

Rightly or not, TV rights fund and run the game. Tasmanians already follow footy and watched it. The big markets untapped were Western Sydney and us. Those wanting a Tassie team are VFL tragics stuck in the 80s. Qld kids are coming on in droves but let's not get the facts in the way of the sheep
 
I remember when Hawthorn, Melbourne and North Melbourne were incredibly close to folding.
And gee did Fremantle do it hard for years and years.

Those who go about sticking the knives in and trying to take Advantage of the situation are either pretty simple or just privileged types.

We are going to be huge in time.

But let me end by saying that I hope this is the start of your redemption. For all the supposed rivalry between our two clubs we have far more in common than we have differences, and I want Queensland footy to be strong and successful. I hope you get an off-field team to take you in the right direction. It would be great to see you up near the top with us in a few years time.
 
Look at the positives we now have kick ass facilities thanks to the comm games. Let's all be honest we all thought rocket was a bad move to start with, so this is a move in the right direction

Stronger Suns and stronger Lions = More enjoyment for everyone. One day this'll be a top 4 type a QClash and the atmosphere will be off the charts.

'move to tassie' and the likes.
Everyone turns on anyone when you dont have the wins on the board.
