You'd rather be here than Tassie and the West of Sydney by miles and miles
Exactly. A Tassie team would have massive trouble keeping their interstate recruits. Nothing against the place, but it doesn't hold much appeal for young footballers.

Considering that the majority of the guys that have played for the Tassie sides in my comps up and leave for Melbourne every couple of years I'm also of the belief that a club will never be put in that lonley little island.

Every comment I see saying that the Suns should move down there just makes me want to nuke it into the sea 10 times more.

Something that is doing my head in at the moment is that the Melbourne media are reporting Ablett's house is for sale. It been for sale for about 9 months

If you were a new coach looking at building GCS (re Fagan) would you be busting to keep Ablett? Trade the great man and move on.

I'm happy to offer him for sale to all Ten Victorian Clubs and see who puts up the best offer.
However if he says it's Geelong or I retire then his "family reasons" excuse is total BS and I'd play those entitled buggers as hardcore as I could to get an above average midfielder and if they don't want to pay up then it's on them for not wanting him enough and he can retire or come crawling back to us.

One thing that really stood out to me was the comment by the commentator that we are coming last in total tackles for the year. Too many broken tackles again last night, fix that up and we will see a quick improvement. Hopefully they work on that big time in the pre-season.

Inept tackling is the number one frustration I have with our players

Spot on Bods, watching players burst out of tackles time after time gives me headaches. grab the ****ing hips and put them into the ground. Seany Lemmens needs to run a training drill on tackling cause he is the only one who does it week after week

Totally. I know he's a poor footballer etc but boy can he drill someone when he lines them up.

Sooooo bored.... Really need a shorter afl season 17 rounds is enough to determine finals. Maybe throw in state of origin again to pad the season out. But the trade period can't come quick enough for me nothing else to look forward too but potential hope for next year.

I doubt the trade period will be a fun one this year..

Indeed

Reading Lever no longer interested in the Bulldogs (ridiculous call IMO) after one bad season makes you wonder how anyone could possibly be interested in coming here in the foreseeable future

Gotta start building with good fringe players and going to the draft, ie witts

Important to remember though that Hanley, Lyons and Witts were all under contract and came from nowhere and then we got them. Hopefully we can get the new coach before the trade period and if it's someone like Dew we might be able to convince a few fringe Swans players to come over. Daniel Robinson might be one?

Lyons and Witts were off contract. I think Hanley had a year to run on his 5 year deal.
