I was big on having Swallow Snr too- but you can understand the Club being wary of age and pace with the need to rebuild and having Riska Rosa and Barlow already on the list.
If Riska had retired like he was thinking of doing we probably would have Andrew here I reckon

If Barlow can’t get a game I’m sure Swallow would of found it impossible.

Remember that discussion well...;)
I'm old Skool Southport. Born at the old new hospital, went to Musgrave Hill Primary, Southport High and Griffith Uni. In the 80s and 90s, the Gold Coast had the Bears in the AFL and Southport in the QAFL. Other clubs were Mickey Mouse back then, but not anymore. 10 years ago I lived in Cooly and Palm Beach and support for the local clubs was pretty average. PBC was always Rugby League, and still is, but I've noticed a certain defensive hardness about their play that perhaps comes from getting tackled by future Titans players.

I’m a bit over David King, talking like he’s this AFL Tactical Genius year after year and pontificating from the sidelines.

Time for him to man up, put his money where his mouth is and Coach.

He picked Essendon to win the Grand Final

and said Joe Daniher was going to be the best player in the competition by the end of the year

Looking pretty far off it at this stage...

Nothing annoys me more than people who take Thursday night positions as gospel except maybe people who don't understand free agency. /endrant

So only 7194 turn up in Hobart to witness the 6th placed home team (Nth Melb.) have a win against one of the early premiership contenders in GWS.
And only 6833 turn up in Ballarat, a couple of weeks ago, 90 mins up the highway from AFL heartland to witness the 2016 Premiers play a Home game and yet 10000+ turn up to watch Port play the Suns somewhere up north in China, but those two biased VIC commentators Matthews and Malthouse, want the Suns licence transferred to Tasmania....

And by the way, in todays game at Etihad, with the roof closed, and perfect conditions, 2 Melb clubs with a combined membership of 115,000+ could only get 34000 people to attend....this, in AFL heartland with a population of 4.8 million and only 2 games being played in Melbourne this afternoon.

Don't you just love the rationale behind the VIC media.........

North are absolutely killing it this year, above most people's expectations I reckon, but Tassie can only get 7000+ people to turn up, and yet we're supposed to agree to our licence being transferred to the Apple Isle, for the good of the game...

I've said it before....where the VIC media is concerned, believe nothing that you read and only half what you actually see....

Get in line, Sandy, and take a number......;)
It was crunch time throw a shoe at the TV when he reduced the Gabba crowd to 5000 and when Rory T completely outclassed Dixhead in the forward pocket not once but twice and he was all about the magic touch that in fact was a fumble straight to Rory

and being the Geelong "tragic" that he is, no doubt we'll get him for our 1st Home game at Metricon in a few weeks time. Maybe I can watch it with the sound turned off.....

It was a Cat act by a Cat human and I don’t believe the attendance in Shanghai yesterday, that tiny little stadium was empty.

Classic thread on the main board with many people saying we have the worst list in the AFL, we are defs better than the Blues and Saints, and even the Hawks, Bombers, North in a couple of years once there old players move on

Attendance was even worse last year according to AFL propaganda.
Chinese don't watch or understand our game. Fixture is simply lots of invited guests on a junket influencing their Chinese contacts. Sincerely hope the Suns hand this fixture over to those ''very deserving'' Melbourne clubs wanting to promote Victoria to the world next year.
Give me another home game at Metricon anytime...

Maybe because its becoming a ''Queensland" list - not a players we can get list...

Talent wise we have an incredible list full of 1st and 2nd rounders. Most of them are still very young and fewer than a handful are in that golden 26 to 28 year old bracket where players begin to exhibit their best all round football. Next year that number more than doubles and the middle of the list matures an extra year.
Even with the exodus of talent over the past 3 offseasons, the club has been able to get a bounty of draft picks that will only really begin to take a noticeable affect from next season onward when our top 22 includes the likes of Brodie, Scrimshaw, Fiorini, Wright and Macpherson as well as Ainsworth, Bowes, Scheer, Ah Chee and Miller, with half a dozen 19yos pushing for selection and a fresh crop of rookies coming up.
Injuries and playing 9 games straight away from home is the reason we aren't in the top 8. Those things have nothing to do with list talent. 5 of our players will be 30+ by season's end, with 10 about to enter the 26 to 29yo bracket. That's 30 players under 25! 10 of them are 21 to 25, but 12 more will turn 21 some time next season. This time last season we had a poor list, with guys like Hallahan, Brooksby, Davis, Shaw and Grant sometimes playing next man up in an embarrassing end to the season. Even their 18yo replacements have shown more already and in a couple of years they will be hard to keep out.
A couple of solid AFL players in the Trade and another crop of draftees and it will be hard to argue that the Suns don't have the most talented list, which I believe to already be the case.

Put it on the main board Choppers as it’s the only way to educate the masses

Spot on. They’re not huge on any type of football to begin with, but The EPL is all they seem to know. I’ve tried explaining AFL, shown them TV footage, even taken them to a game, with the only thing it did was to confirm that we play a form of rugby. Waste of time.

Being an ole fart, with limited computer knowledge, I'm not sure how to do that......is it possible for someone else to do it, or does someone need to instruct me how to do it...

Just copy your post and then paste it and post it in a thread of your choice on the main board
