I get people are passion about footy but some really scare me off with the way they shout .

To me the gaff punch looked a lot more like he was trying to get him in the shoulder but Brayshaw dropped down a bit at the wrong time. If you pause it just before the punch Brayshaw drops the knees a bit and he connects with the bottom of his jaw rather than his shoulder. Also giving him the benefit of the doubt because In his 8 years in the AFL he’s never once been given weeks for behaviour
 
Are you serious , you see me swinging my arm in your direction late and you don't move as a human? You dropped because you saw something heading your way in your head direction and Avoid it , did you see how professional boxer avoid a punch into their head. Brayshaw is playing AFL not knowing that Gaff aims at him with a punch regardless of his intention .

This is 100% what happened
Brayshaw kind of flinched in instinct and a punch headed to the sternum got him flush on the chin.

Should miss 5 weeks but don’t think he maliciously tried to punch him in the face.

What about the run away part ? Any video players footage swigging their arm to hit shoulder , chest or the heart direction ?

Well clearly he was a bit distraught when he came to the boundary, sounds like he didn’t know what to do.

I have no idea what you are saying in the second part of your statement or question.

You don't see those swigging punch in the shoulder direction in AFL .

you see it 10 times a game. look at the replay and look how low to the ground Brayshaw gets just as Gaff starts to take the swing. Had he been standing up straight there would have been 0 impact to the face

I didn't say it was alright, but the malice certainly wasn't there I didn't think. getting a push, shove or a whack in the arms, or torso is pretty commonplace - especially when Brayshaw dished out the first hit.

But,You elect to bump or swing a punch and it goes wrong?

Not sure intent even comes into it
Don't think Maysie "intended" to collect Stef Martin's head either but 5 matches
6 should cover it IMO

Oh absolutely should still cop 6 weeks, but my defense is more on Gaff's character and his intent more so than what he's done.

I don't want to analyse his character , I don't know what he's thinking at that moment, only him know about his own intention. Just like what happen to Suarez in soccer. I like to see him play and one of my favourite player but bitting player Ear is a No No .
