Well if I can’t have a crack at the nepotistic private school toffs who run this game at what I call VFL House at what I perceive to be the expense of my city’s team because it upsets the Victorian Based Suns fans then maybe I need to consider my ongoing place on this forum.
I’ll sleep on it for a while.
You do know the first ever game of Australian rules was played between Scotch College and Melbourne Grammar?Everytime you take an interest in AFL you're literally soaking in that history. The upside is that it makes it a very classless game. You're just as likely to bump into a captain of industry or a movie star at the bar of an AFL match as you would a battler who saves up his coins to buy a ticket or a membership.None of this rugby rah rahs vs League neanderthals nonsense.AFL is the true peoples game

This is what it feels like when I wake up after a night of drinking and most of the events are blanked out, what did I miss?
Well if we’re talking about one of my old nights out in Thailand it could involve chickens, copious quantities of Maekhong whiskey, fried locust and the odd ping pong ball.

I remember those nights as well, long past now.
Maekhong is considered to be Glenfiddich single malt compared to Lao Khao Thai whiskey which in English translates to "White spirit". No need to say anymore. Now, there's a drink, and very much "number 1" when in the presence of one's father-in-law, especially in Isaan, the northern part of Thailand. Tried the fried locust, fried ants, but my preference is fried baby frog...
Those meals are long gone too, now I just prefer moo dat diew, with a few beers.

Looked that up, that looks delicious

Southgate playing Rashford over Grealish or Sterling and 2 left backs:oops:
Obviously went to the same Selectors School as Dew:p

Got on Croatia/draw 2.6

Not liking what Southgate put out, held them off for a half. Just play JWP if you want a set piece specialist ffs

So 2MP now being heralded as the steal of the trade period

a lot of people aren’t going to be happy ( about the club, not Pete) if he breaks out

Wright and Lyons gone for nothing. All can play.
Brodie mismanaged and not given a crack. He can play.

Dew and Haines. Not good enough. Both can go.

I think this Wright talk is a little premature. He was playing on Josh Scache, the most make shift of make shift key defenders yesterday, with no Alex Keath or Ryan Gardener, who would be best 22 for them. He has had an OK year with a massive breakout game yesterday. If he can back it up then I will be a bit more annoyed. He is currently sitting in illustrious company with Kyle Reimers as players who have kicked a bag for Essendon.

Josh Schache, as in former pick number 2 Josh Schache, what happened to that guy?

Very good points l reckon l could kick a couple on Scache he's horrendous. He makes Graham look like Steven May.
I think Peter Wright is probably a flat track bully.
So he'll probably kick another 8 if they play Graham on him.

If Peter Wright dominates Collins this week I'll buy an Essendon membership. He was playing on Schache who is useless and Cordy, who is also useless. Put someone on Wright who is strong bodied and he gets bullied out of marking contests and he leaves the F50. Schache has the upper body strength of a dandelion

Hope dew doesn’t read this and play graham
I kinda do, a week after a horrendous loss where we looked as bad as we ever have and all the pressure is now off Dew because of a win over another poor side

no truer statement than “ a weeks a long time in football”

Wright’s not a star by any stretch. But 203cm tall forwards who can ruck are rare. We had one contracted for 2 more years who cost us a top 10 pick and wasn’t breaking the bank.
I look at our list and there are no young blokes fitting that description either. Yeah he only beat Schache but there are times when you come up against trash defenders and to take advantage of that and win the gave off your own boot vs the premiership favourites then I find it a strange decision. Thank god King hasn’t missed a game as I’d hate to see our fwd structure then.

Really? I think we're one win away from this season being an unquestionable step forward. Inconsistency aside, I'd have taken 8 wins this year, but add in the injuries and I reckon we're tracking okay.

You have to beat the poor sides too.
