Had the franklin / daisy / Rohan triple spud problem.
Daisy is gone for swallow. Perhaps wines for 30k more
Franklin ill perisist with
Rohan I may dump after round 3 and hopefully get a $100-$150k pop out of him
There just aren't enough good forwards. If you're not burning $500k+ on dangerfield and dusty the pickings are slim
Parker and Mitchell are locks there though

**** fantasy, everything is just so stupid in this game now. The great idea of the free hit is not great, its ridiculous. Not only does everyone get to jump on board with everything but it made me choose guys which wouldn't have been in my round 2 team (terlich, bugg, masten, stants) because I thought they'd do well. But no, they all did terrible which means that I'll be behind the 8 ball and will almost be impossible to catch back up because everyone will have the exact same teams from the start! I don't even care about this fantasy shit anymore, its just gone too far

VSDT is here for you.

(AFL Fantasy) WTF is with this unlimited trades for round 2?

It was already over the top last year with 44 trades. By about round 14 everyone roughly had the same team, the same rookies, the same "x-factor." There was no concern over trading out players with 1-2 week injuries. No punishment for recklessness and no reward for being brave.

But unlimited trades for round 2 will just exacerbate this issue. I'd be curious to know how many teams trade in Dunstan, Tyson, Langdon etc. within the next week, while trading out Franklin, Dale Thomas etc.

Thought I was onto a winner with Matthew Wright (108) at 368k, but that smart planning and evaluation is now worth nothing as there will be thousands to jump in on his high score and low price.

Sure, some trigger-happy coaches will make poor judgments and trade out some players prematurely but with an abundance of trades in the coming rounds, again there is no punishment for poor decision making this week.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Yeah the unlimited trades up until round 2 is ridiculous, just another stupid change they've brought in.

I don't know why they have to keep making so many changes every year, some are worthwhile but most are just changes for changes sake. They're like the AFL rules committee.

My team for round 2 is f***ing ridiculous. Maybe 4 upgrades from being finished?

Speaking of ways Fantasy is screwing itself royally with changes, what the hell is one to make of this (cut and pasted from Roy's Fantasy Trade Talk)?

"The Players’ Prices will change based on a formula that takes into account their past performances. All games played by the Player since the start of the season are taken into account in the calculation of their Price changes, with a sliding scale of weightings with the most recent game receiving the highest weighting, as well as a component of their performance last year - if they played last year!”

It was so simple before - three games before a price change, then a rolling BE you could monitor and use to assess your trade options. What Fantasy are doing now is Voodoo Economics.

Also, agree with Yellow Feathers - I just knocked up a possible Rd 2 team and it looks way too strong way too soon. Even though I told myself Fantasy would be the lightweight game compared to SC and RDT this year, this is still feeling insultingly obvious and easy.

What even is that? I read that twice and still have no idea how exactly we will be able to precisely predict price changes. Basically just go off their most recent game?

I guess their price will be affected by every game they play, with more weighting towards their more recent (or most recent) game/s.

Dunstan scored a 106. If he scores a 40 in the the next game his avg. will be 73.

His price rise won't be based on a 73 avg, though. It'll be somewhere between 40-73.

This is going to make it difficult to calculate Break Evens. You could get lucky and the player you were planning to trade gets a great score the week before you do so. Or, it could backfire. Polec could be cherry-ripe, you give him 1 more week but he spuds it and drops price significantly on the back of a sub 50 score.

They're not telling us HOW MUCH it is weighted so we'll just have to see I guess.

Why would they even think about changing this? I mean it was so simple, why complicate it this much? Everyone understood it, it was easy to calculate, what is the purpose of doing this?

What is happening to this game

I actually think it's a great move that they're doing this (mainly from their side of it). Basically, it means that people who have bought the Assistant Coach will have the advantage because they'll be able to find exactly what the Break Even is before people who don't. People who have bought the Assistant Coach should have the advantage in this game and it's a way of giving them that little bit of an edge until it is worked out by other sites on the Internet.

1 person to buy Assistant Coach, then post a few BEs in the forum.... I give it 3 weeks tops.

Deactivated my Fantasy account, twas sitting around 5k in but meh I'm 270 points off the leader already and learning from last years experience everyone will be on the same players PODs are irrelevant in that game, rather have a crack at RDT where I'm 638th and about 195 points off the leader (the leader in RDT has his side loaded up on every mid pricer that went off this round, can't see him maintaining consistency) and using strategy to make money and upgrade at the right times.

So does this mean Sandilands for example has some of his price rises this year based on his injury affected scores from last season as they still count (even if weighted lower) in the price changes

No. This season only.

What the hell. In the league view, you can see your opponents NEW team (i.e. post Round 1 trades). Could this website be any worse??

I don't understand this "free hit" people are complaining about.

I see the site shows I have 'unlimited' trades, but I still have a limit of only 2 in this round. So it's not like I can strip my whole squad out.
And I got 2 players injured so I've already had to use the trades, not through choice.

You are talking about AFL Fantasy Yeh? You can wipe your whole squad in it. If it doesn't let you then you should be emailing them to let them know as everyone else is making unlimited trades.
