It's what bench cover is for, most should be able to deal with it.

It's still annoying though, even if you have bench cover. I mean, this is the time where you want your team to be scoring 2200 plus each week, not having your best players out and having to play the likes of Webberly and Watts etc.

Yes but you have to remember the blokes most likely to be rested are the popular ones everybody has, so everybody's score will get hurt to some degree. In fact, if your bench cover is good, it could end up being a benefit to you in the overall rankings.

Time for luke shuey to start scoring consistent 120's.

Gumby to ton it up wouldn't hurt either.

This has been my worst DT week ever! 1,886 - pathetic! I lost to ruddy Graham Cornes because of this!

Gilbert - 39
Duffield - 54
Enright - 59
Montagna - 68 (c)
ROK - 23
Stanton - 77
Sandilands - 53
Cox - 37
Pods - 63
Higgins - 78 - bearable

I thought Pods was meant to be good at SS

Milne will be in the negatives if he keeps playing shit and giving away a free every 15 minutes FFS

Exactly, so the problem isn't Geelong resting players, it's your inadequate bench cover.

Ummm no. The problem is Geelong resting players as opposed to not having adequate bench cover...

No the problem is a lack of adequate bench cover, Geelong's resting of players merely exposes that problem and makes it hurt. Geelong resting players, particularly common ones that most people have, should not screw your finals if you have built your squad with adequate cover, therein lies my point.

No your point is that some people don't have an adequate solution to the problem of Geelong resting players.

How can you say players being rested isn't a problem? That's like saying injuries or late withdrawals aren't a problem because you could have a solution.

You can always expect Geelong to rest players in the last few rounds. For example, getting Chappy always buys the risk that he is going to be rested. You "know" that before getting him, yet people elect to get him anyway.

With this knowledge - you must have good coverage! Your shooting yourself in the foot by getting superstar players who are usually rested late in the season, and not having adequate bench cover.

I wasn't saying it was ideal, of course nobody including me wants some of their best 22 unavailable. I was merely saying it's only something you have to worry about if you don't have adequate cover. Besides, we're largely talking about common players that most people, including your league finals opponents have, so you'll be no worse off than them, and if your cover is very good, there's actually probably a net gain for you. It's only a problem to worry about if your cover is crap. And after all, this is the least surprising news of the year-when you take Cats and Saints players on you know this will probably happen and you build cover into your squad. If you haven't done that, it's not Geelong's fault.

I think it's been a low-scoring round for many people. As I type, with 3/4 of a game (and only 3 players) to go - I'm on 1754, opponent 1713, and we both average about 2080.
