hahahahahaha. That vent actually made me laugh (working night shifts, need all the laughs I can get).
Got 1920 and still lost my Eliminator :/ . Although undefeated in other 3 leagues, I feel shattered :(

Slightly unusual vent

I have to admit I get a little bit peeved whenever people on this forum say something along the lines of "lol DTleagues" and are instead playing for first prize and overall glory.

That's fine, but a lot of people justify it by "such a big first prize, gotta focus on that"

According to the DT site, first prize is worth a shade less then $53000.

Assuming there is around 10000 semi-decent teams (which sounds about right) which all have a roughly equal chance of claiming the prize, you have around a 1/10000 chance of winning the prize, or about 20c of the prize is yours.

In comparison I (like a large number of people here) are in multiple leagues for money with an entry fee much larger then 20c

So when people such as myself make trades on the basis of setting a team up for league finals rather then the overall, feel free to tell me I suck at DT, but not because ZOMG THE PRIZE MAN!!!!!

What are typical cash league entry costs?

I'd be tempted to look into it next year.

Usually $20, $50 and $100. And yep, league play is very different from overall points play. Though I find restricted trade formats better for leagues.

Agree league play is different. For instance next week (I'm playing for cash league win) I have a game against the bottom placed team, who is projected to score 900. This gives me a LOT of breathing room in terms of the trades I make, and allows me to plan for the future a lot more than I could if I was playing for overall.

And the cash league was $50 entry each, gives a fairly nice prize pool to be won.

I'm in this boat

It is so frustrating when you have an important league game coming up and don't know whether to trade for future or for the round

The leagues are generally among friends for whatever amount is "right"

So a family league might go 10 a pop and a league among gambling or poker friends might be significantly more. Obviously the division of money changes from league to league but mihgght go something like

Winner 50%
Runner up 30%
Highest points overall 10%
Highest individual round score 10%

Other breakdowns might give the minor league winner their money back or give money to the preliminary finalists

That can easily be arranged, as long as you have a few people keeping track of everyone's trades and making sure no one cheats you can set any trade limit you like between 0 and 44 for the year :thumbsu:

17 players with a green light. 3 with an orange (Dwyer, Grimley, Hrovat) Could be copping a jam donut this week.

I don't doubt Dwyer will be in the 22 with so many young players in their team atm. Cooney and Boyd coming back makes me think Hrovat is in trouble.
Most WB guys think Hrovat will be fine and Cooney may play out of the square

Dwyer would be ahead of most of the young guys wouldn't he? Has played all year bar the last few games and has played very well

We'll know by tomorrow evening anyways, I'm going to stick with Hrovat unless he's dropped.

same with Grimley bought him in b4 the bye round trying to be clever and plan ahead so i had a full team plus earn a bit of coin. Looks like it may backfire!
