In 2008, when Dogs made a preliminary final, we were eight years into a rebuild. Since then, Dogs have bottomed out, rebuilt their list and made a grand final in 2016. Meanwhile, we have done f*** all.

F*** this shit club.
This is why I often get so upset with RFC. Other clubs seem to rebuild/regenerate so much quicker than us. Look at us at the end of 2014 VS Bulldogs at the end of 2014. How are the Bulldogs tasting success before us?

good recruiting , good coach .

It's about the whole football club wanting to be successful ON FIELD. From board to boot studder.

When your board only prioritises other areas before they core business we end up on a situation like we have now.

They have quality people around. We have Peggy and Hardwick and Hartley.

Oh piss right off. You can't right off our grand finals ffs. I was there in 1980 and 1982, how many dog supporters still alive that have seen there team in 2 grad finals let alone winning one?

I am stoked for there supporters who stuck fat since 1961 they have showed loyalty and character a lot more then some weak as piss views stated here.

We are at a low point but only an idiot would state we won't rise again
Did I say Richmond won't rise again? Read my post again and I don't think you'd get that out of it.

If you compare our record in that time to others though, you'll see it is very uncompetitive.
Do we want to be the team with records like that or do we want to be better than that? Club needs a line in the sand moment this offseason and at least show signs of genuinely moving into a better era.

let's not forget they have been kissed on the dick with father and sons but in saying that I agree. It is frustrating but that does not excuse hating the club, rubbishing our history etc ( not saying you are).

imo hate the admin coach all you like, I just draw the line at the hate on the club

I was actually referring to the other "supporter" when i stated how can you suggest we would not rise again.

Simply mate, anyone can pick and choose a time line to highlight how poor a club is. Everyone that knocks richmond always seems to ignore the 70's and early 80's because if they did, our record then would not be the worst. It has not taken us yet 61 years to appear in another grand final, took the pies 50 years to break there drought.

I have read posts saying people accept mediocrity etc yet some of those very same "supporters" seemed satisfied in a team like the dogs who have past us yet have only won one flag but crow about there 8 Prelims as that is an achievement. I can 100% guarantee when we win a final, those same posters will say " well its only a final" we are all about flags :drunk:.

Bottom Line its about Premierships, we have 10. We are not the worst. Yes our game plan was shit. Yes our admin made an error appointing Hardwick for another 2 years but that in isolation does not erase all the joy we get as tiger supporters. Do you remember 95 ? Do you remember the 80 GF ? Or how about 2001 ? Or did you enjoy 2012 and the ride of improvement we showed that year ?

Lets say the dogs lose next week ( i hope not as i want them to win for there loyal supporters)...would that make there year a failure ? And would they be a failure that it would then be 62 years without a GF win ? Of course not but it seems a rule for judging Richmond and a different set of rules for other sides.

Anyway rant done :P

I just liked your post, and then unliked it just so I could like it again.

Yeah that is true, it is largely pick and choosing, but for me the timeline that matters is what I have seen of Richmond in my time following them.

I started following them in 2002 (for 14 years now) and they haven't won a final in that time. On the other hand, I have seen them win 2 wooden spoons. So even in my time following them, they are among the least successful teams. But I do have to admit that 2012-2015 was quite exciting :D

Clearly I don't follow them for their success, but it would be nice to see them win a final or make a Prelim or something like that. I know many of you guys have, but I didn't.

out of curiosity, who did you support before Richmond?

Yeah all good mate and i feel for you. I have seen the highs but also the lows. It is just that I am just over those that say there supporters when they clearly are not and all they contribute to this board is posts like " club is ****en shit"...etc.

All i can add further is that we will rise again, even if its due to just blind luck that our players now have sons all that play like wayne carey :P

No one. Came to this country when I was 11 in 2002 and straight away followed Richmond. I did ponder about following Carlton actually because I lived in Carlton (never ended up following them though), but I had friends that followed Richmond so it kind of rubbed off on me.

Also, I liked tigers as in the animal :D

You made the right choice.

Noone wants to support Carlton.

Tiger71 Woopdie ****ing doo you were at the 1980 and 1982 grand finals. You know what that means? You are over 45. Anyone under that has seen nothing but a pathetic mess. You say anyone can pick a time to highlight how poor a club is? Ok, pick any time over the last 35 years bar 2 fluke seasons and we are shit. Not even just ok, just shit.

Wow! Can relate so much! Never seen a final win before because I started following Richmond in 2002, also started following Richmond coz of mates and I like tigers as animals. Came to the country around the same age as well :p

2013 was crazy exciting for me, first time I had seen any sort of success while following the Tigers. Winning 15 games, almost making top 4, making finals... And here I am still waiting to witness that first final win lol. Words can't describe how much of a disappoint this season was, had high expectations before the season started.

no child you said you want to follow another club so go follow the blues. You try to hard to troll child
For one, I never said I want to follow the blues but whatever. You remember the days when Richmond success was a realistic goal, so the Alzheimer's is probably kicking in about now.

Seeing that piece of poo in the grandstands celebrating (Tony Liberatore) on the TV was too much.

I dislike Sydney as much as Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon; however I still remember this:

So I will be supporting the Swans on Grandfinal day.

Spot on

We are now an official embarrassment- lets get real and ruthless in our quest to be no 1- Bulldogs show us how from president down- l look at our coach he is like a twetty bird compared to a majestic eagle that is beveridge - club plays their supporters as fools respect our wish to be no 1 and make proper decisions getting the right people into the right roles. I am so happy for the scrays but it makes me too much annoyed that we continue to both our clubs progress with poor cultural decisions.

My rant.

Peggy is not up for re election yet again. She is getting "Appointed" by the board to avoid it. Unbelievable.

This is a joke. The club won't be going ******* anywhere while this idiot is leading the club.
Maybe her (in)voluntary donation was quite healthy of late.
