I think Ballantyne played on the wing.
He seemed to pickup alot of cheap uncontested style marks on the wing during the game. Suban looked to play off a half back flank.

My vent is all my playing emergencies scoring higher than atleast one of my playing players. Good 200 points wasted thanks to barlow and a couple of others. But im also happy that my cover appears to be very good this year.

Yet I'm ranked 4000th, he is ranked 1st.


Just makes for a boring year. Teams are identical.

I know things change up a bit with trading etc...but lets face it, everyone is basically using the same strategy, the same rookie and the same guns.

The only difference is a few mid-priced players are different. Some went Hall, some went Ziebell, some went Dangerfield.


The good DTers will start to separate themselves no doubt, but its just very boring knowing that my team is the same as 4000 others and a score nearing 2200 means nothing.


And there's no point arguiing people should get unique picks. If you don't get the good picks you wouldn't even be in the top 50,000

I just think there was too much obvious value this year and too much spare $$. Pretty much resulted in a lot of similar picks as there wasn't really much need to take a risk on someone unique with so many obvious picks that were going to improve, and a lot of spare cash lying around. I would have been a lot more comfortable if they took $1mil off the salary cap to get some differentiation in the teams!

As said, trading will always catch up with a lot of the early season boomers. That's where i'll be trying to bring in some underpriced unique guys. So much more fun barracking for the one guy that "no-one" else has! Don't really have anyone like that in my squad this year...yet.

Vent at Suban and Walker. Both would have been in my side had they shown ANYTHING in the pre-season, Suban in particular. Now I just know he's going to have an even better season I thought he would.

I chose Joel Patfull because I thought he'd score well with Maguire in the team. Turns out that Maguire scores well...

I'm fairly annoyed that some of my more unique players, like Clark, Hargrave and Wright did so bloody terrible!

Taking Hunt and Waters above some of the others available at that price range may also sting later in the season.

I had Selwood or Boyd all pre - season but then suddnely for some reason I decide I want to be unique and put in Dal Santo and he pulls out 77! Mind you he played on Kirk which didn't help him I still would liked at least 85!

Okay, this is worth a vent...

I only have one team. I know a lot of people have more than one team, but I figured that was cheating so I didn't do it. But now... I'm sort of... starting to wish I did.

Before the season started, I created two teams on "paper" that were different to one another but both viable. The team I selected, based on the rookie-mid strategy, scored 2159. That's not bad, but here's the thing... The team I did not select, with a standard gun/rookie/value strategy, would have scored 2476... Seriously. 2476.

It's hard not to get upset about that.

And now I understand why people make more than one team.

Hindsight is a bitch.
