I didn't want to start a thread only on my opinions, but i need to vent, and there wasn't an adequate thread which would pollute the board.

I could handle the last decade or so, we were genuinely not good enough. We were very young for most of it, and it didn't seem like a lack of intensity and enthusiasm, rather just a lack of genuine skills.

In no ways are we ready, we are still young, raw, inconsistent etc. But there are some things that absolutely tear me up inside. Lack of awareness. Jordan Russell constantly handballs to people under pressure. Had a direct hand in many collingwood goals.

Inability to tackle/ intensity. There were periods of that game where they would just run through our team. Happened all over the ground, especially in our forwardline. Garlett is very good at chasing, but at standard tackles, he is terrible. Which leads to next point.

Forward pressure: may be due to our lack of a target. But surely it isn't that easy to get out of our forwardline. When it was in theirs, it stayed in their. They would kick a few points, a goal. We just couldn't get it out. We would kick it down there and bam, it would be out again.

Running into traffic: Side point of no awareness. Do these guys look when they run. How can you not see some body running right behind you. they constantly run straight into collingwood players. Which directly leads to the next point.

No/ weak shepparding/ blocking/support: Judd isn't the only player who doesn't receive this. Players around the guy trying to take the game on, just stand there and watch. They watch 3 collingwood guys from three different sides gang tackle the bloke. Do something.

Not running both ways: This was the worst of it for me. It is all good and well to run forward. But how many times in the second quarter did it seem like collingwood players were every where! They just ran harder. Nothing to do with talent or ability. It's about want. They wanted the ball more.

Our panicky defence and constant turnovers/stupid kicks were probably due to their all ground pressure, so that i could at least handle a little more.

Coaching is another issue. Why does Eddie betts never get released into the midfield. Was getting destroyed with two blockes double his size on him. Had one shot in the middle, won a clearance and was moved out. Don't understand it. Thought we would show some some intensity this game.

End vent. Please add your vents here.

Harsh on Jordy.

That first half, he was actually trying to do something.

Collingwood's pressure was immense and we had very few contributors.

I only want to vent on structures.

Absolutely not harsh in the slightest. I probably misdirected my vent. The majority of the club, i just want to see some intensity and effort. From the senior players, i want to see leadership.

Speaking of which. These podcasts have to ****ing stop. No coincidence that since they started, our club has taken a downward spiral. Stop concentrating on ****ing videos, and concentrate on ****ing football!

Sick of it, done all the venting the last six weeks nothing has changed, I got called a troll, a Richmond supporter etc, the sugar coaters still think everything is ok, no point really, Carlton are awesome, nothing wrong with us at all, we are just young, we need time etc etc.

This is a great club. It always has been a great club, and always will be a great club. But the last few years have seen us on our knees and it hasn't exactly been pretty!

I have been Carlton since the day I was born and in that time it has been fantastic!

The last 8 years or so have been something that was hard to deal with. Certainly something as a Carlton supprorter I had never experienced!
But I thought we had ridden the storm and overcome them.
Unfortunately the last 7 weeks or so have have rekindled memories of those bad years.
We have gone backwards and something is not right.

It seems to me that a lot of supporters are wearing rose coloured glasses and can't (or refuse) to see that we are in trouble.

We have gone backwards. We are in trouble. Something is wrong.

Take off your rose coloured glasses and have a good look.

I love this club with my heart and soul and it hurts to see it at the moment!

Get ready Bee, you are going to be called a troll and a Richmond fan soon, truth hurts and the sugar coaters don't like to take off those blue glasses, we are starting to accept mediocre.

Like you I love the Carlton Football Club, and the last eight years has been hard but this is bringing back bad memorys, seems like nothing has changed, we are going backwards.

Stop trying to bring sympathy upon yourself.
If you are going to bag the club, at least do it constructively, or in a place that is encouraged i.e this thread.
The reason people get frustrated is your overall negativity. So often you don't actually raise a point. Just *our team is rubbish, ratten is rubbish and must be sacked. Not actual quotes but that's the idea.
The one thing worse than overly positive supporters is overly negative supporters. And both cop criticism.

+ 1

Save yourself the trouble. Don't bother arguing with all the people on this board who insist on keeping their head stuck in the sand.

Better still, don't even watch the games. It will only lead to frustration and disappointment.

Don't need to vent too much myself.

Had a feeling we'd cop a flogging today.

Pies are the best side going at the minute.

I forget the exact stats but i reckon i saw recently that the Pies have an average of 30-40 games of experience more than us. There'd be something wrong if they didn't knock us over.

CHF is an important position. Our CHF has played 25ish games, and most of them in the back line.

Ruck is an important position. Our rucks today have 50ish games between them.

Our midfield is my biggest concern. Too many blokes expecting The Great Man to do it all, and I reckon it's starting to take a toll on him.

Disappointment stems from expectations, and i reckon there's a fair portion of our supporter base who are a bit unrealistic re the latter.

Sympathy on myself? Ok then cool.

They wouldn't dare call me a troll, or even worse, a Richmond supporter.
I love this club. I am a forth generation supporter. The fifth generation is up and running as well. My family is Carlton. We bleed Carlton.

I just want to see this club back where it belongs.

I love this club dearly!

I think that the players are lacking the passion for this great club, passion that a lot of us supporters have for this team, just sad to see what's going on at the moment. I don't really care if they get beaten as long as they go down all guns blazing. The sad thing is that even that is too much to ask for from the players at the moment.

Ummm, I thought this was called the vent thread and I thought you started it.
I thought venting meant exactly that!

Well, I finally managed to get down from Bendigo to a game this wknd and boy, did I choose the wrong one. Worst I have ever seen us play live. No system to our play whatsoever. Couldn't get over how much easier they found free men and space than us. One word summed us up today - Pathetic. I didn't clap any of the goals after the first two. In fact, I only saw one more, I left at 3 qtr time. Weak as piss effort from a so called professional sporting team. :thumbsd:

We stink Ratten has lost the players rockbottom we stink atm
The players are paid very good money to play at their best, irrespective of who the coach is.

Aside from that, they also have an obligation to play at their best for the club and the supporters.

"Losing the players", if true, is an indictment on the playing group rather than the coach, as they then are representing the club under false pretenses.

Edit - that is a vent about the "losing the players" theory.

Why does Shaun Hampson, who has been a professional footballer for almost 4 years, have absolutely NFI what to do when he has a set-shot from the boundary?

If Carrazzo's job is to shut-down Dane Swan, why did Swan have 15 touches halfway through the 2nd quarter when the game was well and truly over?

Why have we got so many players who handball at their team-mates feet and kick to the opposition when we have R. Harvey, G. Williams, C. Bradley and B. Ratten coaching them?

Why did the club trade for perceived "list deficiencies" when we're no where near a shot at the premiership?

Coaches are paid very good money to manage a football team and have them playing as close to their optimum as possible... or they arent succesful in their role.

Its hard to redraft another 44 players to have a team of All Australians capable of winning a hack coach a flag.... but its much easier to look for someone who has the capability of managing a footy club close to its optimum output.

If i had to vote id say the coach should go.....
