I know I'm a livewire when Freo are losing but this display currently taking place is nothing short of pathetic. We are being beaten all over the ground, showing no signs of wanting to win either.

And here we were not just 2 weeks ago thinking Top 4. With this performance we should be thinking about trying not to get into the Bottom 4. Fair enough Hawthorn are the most underrated side in the competition but to be beaten like we are at the moment is garbage.

2 weeks ago we were saying McPharlin forward was a master stroke when in reality it was a temporary fix to a permanent problem. He kicked 10 goals in 2 weeks against mediocre defence, put a semi-decent Full Back on him and he's out of the game. All of sudden we are being shown up for the front running soft c*cks we are.

In a way I guess we deserve the crap we are going to cop. For the arrogance shown by some of us after saying "Top 4" this and "If/When we beat Essendon". But then again why do we always have to be the team that is just the mockery of the competition? (no Eagles or other team trolls to comment please either) Why are we the whipping boys that whenever we start to look bright there's always something that shoots us down?

This may just be the temporary madness running through my system after a beating but my anger towards Chris Connolly, some of our more arrogant supporters and the players in general is at boiling point. We don't deserve to make the finals this year after today's effort alone.

To respond to Imperial Purple by saying Justin Longmuir is our most important player, you're dead on the money and whenever he plays a bad game we play bad. Sandilands is winning the hitouts with ease but our midfielders aren't reading his taps. Is that Sandi's fault? No. Sandi's job is to get the tap to where our midfielders are but most of the time either our midfield just can't get the footy due to a muffled tap or they are too slow to react to get the ball, hence the ball gets sharked by the opposition midfielders meaning we lose the clearance. And that's a significant stat against us. We've dominated the taps but lost in the clearances, even when we thumped Collingwood. I think the problems are deeper than just Sandilands in the ruck because even when Longmuir was moved there today and won the tap our midfielders just didn't react quick enough.

And finally, to get out of my system, to all Freo supporters. Do you think we can bounce back? Do you think we can make finals after today's effort? Do you think that even if we bounce back that we won't deserve another beating? This is 2004 all over again

Had to get that out of my system.

Your on the money. I've been bagging Sandilands. But today he was much better. The only reason Longmuir looks better in the ruck is because he single handedly clears the ball himself. Sandilands taps to advantage but the midfielders fail to clear. Huge problems.

Hasleby is very slow and fat. Bell is nearing retirement (not his fault he has been our best ever player). The Carr's are serviceable. Headland has been a huge dissapointment. Schammer is out of form.

Our midfield is shot.

Wouldnt be surprised is Hasleby is carrying O.P. Certainly has all the signs of it.

I agree, but the fact is we have fit players running around in the WAFL. If he's injured rest him. This would be killing his confidence.

Maybe Murphy in the forward line.

Polak needs to be dropped. He doesn't play like a guy with 3 years under his belt.

Spot on, same thing with Belly last year. We won't lose anything by giving those players a go. We have a lot of ordinary players in our side at present.

Chris Connolly is not to blame from today's performance but for the skills and the game plan overall IMO. Not saying throw get rid of him, I'm saying he needs to tighten up and work with Haselby and his speed otherwise he's not going to be of great use.

I'm listening to Greenday's new song that hasn't been released yet but will be in the next month. If you've heard it before or even just know the title, you'll understand why I think it represents our season!

How many times are we going to use this excuse for him though? He's had forever and a day to work on the players skills. In fact it should have been done in 2002.

I think we have to face the fact that CC is not a premiership worthy coach. He's good to lay a foundation, but that is where his skill ends. We need someone who has good, solid game plans. A traditional coach who doesn't strive to be outspoken or eccentric.

However, like you said Kapow, not all the blame should be laid at CC's door. There are players who fail to stand up consistently, or at all. Headland, Medhurst, Polak, Grover, and Haselby are all guilty of this. It's time to drop some of these guys down to the WAFL to learn a bit of humility and get their priorities in order.

And maybe it is time for a leadership change; Bell relinquishes it to Pav, who hasn't failed to impress after the Walls berating.

My big question is, where the hell is Hayden? If anyone could have stopped Williams it would have been him.

Close but the actual song is quite true:

"Wake Me Up When September Ends"

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

like my fathers come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends

summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

ring out the bells again
like we did when spring began
wake me up when september ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

like my father's come to pass
twenty years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends
wake me up when september ends
wake me up when september ends

Think about it: Summer has come and past, the innocent can never last: Most of our players who were innocent (Haselby, Bell, Medhurst to name a few) have been found out.

Ring out the bells again like we did when spring began: We all thought at the beginning of spring last year that falling short of finals would give us the boost we needed, that was a somewhat joyful time.

Here comes the rain again, falling from the stars, drenched in my pain again becoming who we are: We can't play wet weather football, and that's who we are, once again found out today and it's a painful experience.

As my memory rests but never forgets what I lost: All the tight matches last season, this season that we've lost. All those should've won games. All those must win games.

And finally the title and the main lyric, is quite self explanitory: Wake me up when Septembers ends!

For shame! Doesn't matter what the scoreline, always stay til the end or else you'll be condemned an Eagle in Dockers' clothing. ;)

I resisted. I really did.

I've abused Crows supporters for doing it on a regular basis but I couldn't bear it anymore.

Well, considering the performance, I guess it can be forgiven.

I've seen under 10's put on better displays.

Fumbles, shanks, no talking, no backing up, easy marks dropped, midfield that cant read a ruck tap. Basic bloody footy.

We look too slow ! wtf is going on ?

Mind you after the 3 umpires got the chop this week because of what happened last week youd have to be living outside of reality if you thought we would get a fair go today. Maggots union.

I'm not going to lay the blame on CC as I cant lay the blame on the maggots.

Hawks played excellent footy. Congratulations. Bateman bog for me.

Can't add much to that, disappointing effort. If Hase . Bellie or other midfieders are carrying something , give them next week off and bring in some that are fit enough/willing enough to have a go.
Even Macca.

I stayed right to the end, and well after to see if there was enough people to boo them off the ground. But i saw several people sitting next to the race clap them off, i was dissapointed with that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the time the players went off the ground i think there was maybe 500 people left in the stadium, and they where more dissapointed than annoyd to boo them off.

Not saying i wanted to boo them off, but some people in the crowd yelled it out during the last term

Well, I stayed to the end but was embarrased to be at Subi today. Only 2 or 3 players put in 100%. Scott Thorton didn't even try !
