Autopsy Versus Melbourne

That was so painful to watch today. I was reading the record, playing on the phone, punting at flemington... It was horrid.
Melbourne were so so so bad and we just covered them in the end.
Derryckx won't play many games you can bet on that.
Addam Maric.... I can't watch him. He's petrified.Hes just rubbish really.Melbournes rubbish at that.

Some people ate never happy honestly , they expect all the turmoil of this week and blokes who have never played before to come in and win a game by the same margin our best 22 would .
To win with that many changes and mostly likely none of the ins in our best 22 is remarkable . Congrats RFC .

I agree 100%. IMO X man is a 20 game player max. Let's not forget is 24, and with who we are targeting in fre agency I just can't see him playing ahead of about 6 others on our list.

Maric, yep you nailed it, he will disappear with about 6 or 7 games for us. Can't see him playing more.

15 teams today would have beaten us.

We got the 4 points after a week from hell

If it wasn't for the poor kicking in front of the big sticks we would have won by 60-70 points.

McGuane needs to play CHF over Miller for rest of the season unless we are no chance at finals then bring in Elton.
Griff was looking good until his injury.
O'Hanlon showed a bit in his first full game until he cramped.
Ellis had his best game for the club.
Conca was pretty close to having his best game. That goal would have capped it off.
Derickx defensive pressure sure beat the hell out of Vickery's and Miller's this year.
Essendon says hi.
In fairness he said good team.

I thought Derrickx was the universal answer to all of our problems? In fact, I was reliably informed that the only reason he's been playing at Coburg is that we're waiting until we can assemble another 21 players that can do him justice before bringing him in, so as not to be wasting his time.

Agreed ..shocker of a day shocker of a week..and we still have the 4 points ...lets never discuss this game again..:):thumbsu: and ellis is goin to be an absolute gun..

TBH the way were going atm is setting us up for a 9th finish just doin all the right things to get there, finals are of course what all teams play for but to me were still a year or two off and another good draft away from attacking the finals.

We did everthing but finish off our hardwork. Our youthful midfield was tireless in providing an overwhelming supply of footy to our front half. Was impressed with ellis and conca both stepping up for a greater workload in absence of others. Liked the work of mcguane he easily coud have ad 4. A cooler head hopefully will prevail ext time. Good news is he gave himself plenty of chances...clunked precious marks i50.

Dissapointig so many relatively simpleset shots were missed....we kept them in it...realty is a 50+ point win was squandered

It was an ugly game of footy, no doubt about it. Probably one the worst games I've seen. But after the week we've had I'm just happy we actually won.
Won't be watching the replay of that one, will just move on and look forward to hopefully a better display against the suns next week

Went to a coburg game a few weeks back Damo and they were pretty bad.The big x was very underwhelming .
Never in a million years did I envisage from that day would many out there be playing ones in a bit over a month all at once.
White,Griffiths,X,O'Hanlon,Maric all played that day as did Connors.Got smacked by Willy. Mcguane wasn't even playing.

Sort of puts how we are going into perspective.

Yeah and come September when we again watch on as finals wannabes because we missed the eight by % we will look back at this game and say oh well at least we got the four points with so many changes bla bla bla.........

And to those that use the changes, turmoil (two blokes played up not seven) through the week etc as an excuse for accepting todays poor game against a side with no interest in wining bare in mind we only introduced Drex and Ohanlon today as Batch, McGuane, White, Conca & maric all have enough games in them to understand what needs to be done. Using this as an excuse for a four goal win instead of a 10 goal thumping and much needed percentage will likely cost us a go on the dance floor in september. Christ reading some posts on here you would think we picked seven people out of the crowd as replacements:rolleyes:

Not potting the guy but, McGuane was serviceable up fwd but two occasions I recall he couldn't pull the trigger and score but chose to hand off the pressure and the one from twenty to thirty out where he handballed to JR who had his oponent next to him brought back memories of Miller last week. He was selected this week as a forward and needs to accept he is part of the team and has a role to play and as a forward that is to step up and pull the trigger when it's your turn. Oh and good goal from the boundry too:thumbsu:

We can run, tackle, mark, win the clearances, have more inside 50's .......etc......etc......etc...... but until we start putting scoreboard pressure on the opposition we will continue to be nothing more than contenders who fail to take the next step. Sheesh we had two blokes shank em from the goal square today and whites incorrectly ruled, if they had not been so we would be in the eight tonight.

The side today isn't a 9th placed side, however the depth players played their role to the best of their ability. Other than Maric I thought those who came in, played to the best of their ability if not very close to it.
Win other games we should have during the year and percentage would play no part in whether we make the eight or not.

Which games are you talking about? Freo and who else?

And how can you say percentage will play no part with still 8 games to go. I don't understand your logic.

Could not have said it better myself.

Re mcguane he was better than miller but that first miss and most of his other play tells me he is still a chook.

His last mark and goal was great however. (given his earlier miss and his woeful goal kicking at Coburg tells me it was a fluke )

arrow goes up peejay atm...so its not the improvement we hoped for, but its not going backwards and now its seek and find and try and hope we have a replacement(which i doubt in the next 2 years), or if the brains trust deem that we havent, GO OUT AND GET ONE!!!!!

The games vs Essendon, geelong, WCE and freo could have been won yes if we converted chances. We didn't so we move on to the next week and hope a lesson is learn't in taking chances but again today we wasted scoring opportunities and we got a four goal win. 13 wins might see us finish between 7th and 11th with percentage the crucial factor and with norf playing GC & GWS twice it makes our task that much harder.

Yea but under circumstances hisperformance ws morethan a pass mark. All year weve been crying out foranterbtall to stand up and take a grab luke took 5. Keep that up and he will make a genuine contribution
