With all the negativity going on around here, I thought it was time for a POSITIVE THREAD.

So here we have it, this thread is a purely positive thread, if you do not think we are going to win, if you have any "crap rumours" to post, go to another thread.

WE WILL WIN THIS WEEK, I KNOW IT, AND I BELIEVE IT.

On Saturday, we played about 30 minutes of our best football (10 minutes first quarter, 20 minutes in the 2nd), and this week, with the game opening up due to tired legs, we will dominate for larger patches.

I'm not saying for one moment that we will thump the Saints, but I am so confident of a win, it almost can't be described in words.

So get behind the team, jump on the bandwagon, join the army, IT'S OUR TIME, LAST SATURDAY AND SATURDAY THE 2ND OF OCTOBER WILL BE THE MAKING OF A NEW COLLINGWOOD, A COLLINGWOOD THAT DOESN'T LOSE GRAND FINALS, NO MATTER WHAT, A COLLINGWOOD THAT INSPIRES THROUGH LEADERSHIP AND YOUTH, THROUGH TOUGHNESS AND INTENSITY, AND MORE THEN ANYTHING, A COLLINGWOOD THAT SOARS ABOVE THE AFL AS AN EXAMPLE AS TO HOW THIS GREAT GAME SHOULD BE PLAYED.

GO PIES.:D:D:thumbsu:

I wasnt feeling confident on Saturday and Sunday but after having a few days to think about it and watch the game again im feeling good about our chances. I think if we make a few tweaks to our game plan and strategy i think we will do pretty well.

Like I said on one of your other posts, I always agree with you. :thumbsu:

Everyone stop being so negative and lets get behind the team this week and support them TO A GRAND FINAL WIN!

GO THE MIGHTY MAGPIES LETS WIN THE PREMIERSHIP ONCE AND FOR ALL!

Exactly, we won't play that shit again.

something about the way the ball bounced when leigh brown kicked a goal v the cats and the way it bounced away from milne on Saturday makes me think we are destined to win it.

i think we squandered the game at the end. had our chances and dropped short. quietly confident.

I'm with you on that, Saturday evening, I thought we were incredibly lucky to manage a draw, and was telling my brothers even if we got a ticket, I wouldn't wanna go because we'd get blown out of the water, and I didn't wanna be there to witness it, but after calming my nerves and thinking about it for a few hours, my attitude changed. I believe we'll win, and not just because I'm a Collingwood supporter, but because I believe we've got more improvement in us than St Kilda does from Saturday, fingers crossed, we turn input into output this time.

I am SO CONFIDENT Travis will kick 5 goals 3 behinds.

too much?

I'm not delirous whatsoever, but I don't think thats too much, or maybe its because I read that Norf player's article from '77. But seriously, Cloke is capable of kicking 5 goals, granted 2-3 might be junktime, he can still snare 3 crucial ones when required and be a match-winning forward, be it a Grand Final against the best opposition in the AFL.

I think we are going to win by 25 points

So confident after playing so terribly but dont forget the Melbourne games. (Hate to shatter anyones confidence with that reminder)

Must be harder again this week if we are to win. Leon to play and kick 3.

i'm p confident. we have been the best team all year and i still feel we are the best team on the park. saints big guns lifted massively to drag the rest of their bit players to a draw. whereas our perhaps lesser lights, for lack of a better term, lifted for us on the day. we dommed i-50s and, if we can do it again, i don't think they will be contain us quite as well as they did on sat.

also, i have to be confident; irl i've been a massive c*** for the best part of the last five months, so i'm literally all in atm. :D

This game reminded me of the first time we played the Saints this year. We controlled the first half but didn't put the game away and were then soundly beaten in the 2nd half, with Lenny Hayes everywhere. The difference was that we managed to hold on to a draw this time.

Knowing that, I am very confident this week. In the rematch, we tinkered with a few things and were able to smash them. The fact we managed to almost beat them with our entire starting midfield (Swan, Pendles, Ball & Wellingham) down on their usual production gives me huge confidence. They will not all be quiet again. This will allow us to get the ball into our forward line before the Saints have time to flood back, resulting in a lot more cheap goals from point blank range.

Might also help to replay the sound from the begining of the game when Roo had his team together and told his players "This stage belongs to us"! Sorry. wrong, it belongs to US!

We had a number of players down on past form, poor Didak can hardly lift his arm, they played at their best. We will improve - Brown L, Swannie, Beams, Pendlebury, Davis?, Dawes, Harry all did not perform to their best and they would be in our top ten. All their top ten performed up to expectations.

Im still in shock how we got away with a draw there, im not overly confident, i cant see how we can stop goddard and hayes, and freewoldt had a bad game and that means he might shine next week.
but on a good note, we had a handful of players that played poor by there standards, we just have to keep piling on the goals at the start
WHERE STILL ALIVE, GO THE PIES!

It will be a blow out... we will win this by a big margin

I cannot see them keeping as much pressure as they did again this week

We have the legs and the speed with youth on our side.

The Saints played their GF last week, we play ours this week

I am equally if not more confident then I was last week, The air of invincibility about us has certainly gone a little and yet there are a lot of positives.

1) I thought if it was low scoring we would lose, We didn't.

2) I thought if it was close their loss last year would carry them over the line. We withstood it

3) We managed a draw with none of Didak, Swan and Pendles being in the top 5 on the ground. On the flipside Goddard's second half and Hayes game was as good as humanly possible.

4) All our boys now have grand final experince and the same sense of hurt as thiers.

5) We tried the Davis experiment and probably won't again.

I think we are in a better spot this week.

there is a reason why riewoldt had relatively poor game and that reason will still be there next week. :thumbsu:

Yep I don't buy the "Riewoldt is due" theory, he actually played pretty well I thought all things considered. He struggles because our structure shuts down his space up the ground.

I love Big Footy becuase you have moments when you are feeling nervious and have thoughts about a possible loss, you look at threads like this and you become confiodent all of a sudden. Having said that I was confident 1 minute after the siren went. Mick Malthouse has a better coaching mind then Ross Lyon and he will make some changes now. Stkilda threw everything at us and we played terrible footy I think we kicked 2 goals and 11 behinds in the second half or something like that. Thats terrible and it was all dur to our inaccuracy it was poor entries inside 50 and Stkilda rushed a fair few. The forward preasure was non existant and I cant see Harry O, Pendulbury, Swan and even Dawes having two terrible games in a row and these are all very important players in our team. My last point on why I think we will win is becuase everyone has played in a GF and there wont be nerves like on Saturday and the pain Stkilda went through last year wouldnt make a difference now becuase since then they have played in another grand final. My tip is Pies by 25 points.

Thats whats giving me a bit of hope, i cant see them having another bad game by there standards, didak didnt do what he can do either. i feel weird, but pumped at the same time. and good paragraph there , its giving me hope.
GO PIES!

I can tell you I am certain of this.

If we win, it is yet another era we have brought down with a crash with largely this team.

2007 Finals we destroyed the era for Sydney and WCE, forcing them to rebuild
2008 and 2009 Finals we eliminated ruthlessly the Adelaide Crows, forcing them to rebuild
2010 Finals we have systematically destroyed Western Bulldogs and Geelong, both are going to be forced to rebuild - though the process of dismantling Geelong arguably started midway through 2008

2010 Grand Final Replay, if successful, the Magpies will bring to an end the era of great football from St Kilda, a powerhouse from the start of 2009. It will force them to take steps to rebuild. The loss of Gardiner could well be the first step in that process.

Only manic intensity, commitment to the game plan, and a willingness to do everything physically and mentally possible will win the game, destroy another opponent

To be the best you have to beat the best.

It's time Collingwood.

Time to destroy the dreams of our opponents.
Time to create our own successful era

Time to rebuild the machine team from generations past and claim an historic premiership.

If Cloke kicks 5, we'll win. But with Cloke it depends on how many shots he takes.

He only took 5 on Saturday, needs to use his bulk FAR more effectively against Dawson. Sometimes I think Cloke forgets he's basically the biggest and heaviest CHF in the game.
