:) I think they had to play really well to come from behind and we played no where near our standard level and yet I thougt we were lucky to draw, that scrap at the end of the game was where the pies stood tough and that gave us another chance at achieving glory ........ I think yhe boys will be better for the run I wish Medhurst good luck can be a very dangerous player...Go Pies!!!:thumbsu:

I am equally if not more confident then I was last week, The air of invincibility about us has certainly gone a little and yet there are a lot of positives.

1) I thought if it was low scoring we would lose, We didn't.

2) I thought if it was close their loss last year would carry them over the line. We withstood it

3) We managed a draw with none of Didak, Swan and Pendles being in the top 5 on the ground. On the flipside Goddard's second half and Hayes game was as good as humanly possible.

4) All our boys now have grand final experince and the same sense of hurt as thiers.

5) We tried the Davis experiment and probably won't again.

I think we are in a better spot this week.

Spot on this is all the reasons why we will win. They played about as good as they could and still did not beat us. We had more than just a few players down on form. We now know what it is like not to win and this will burn. Hayes and Goddard cannot play better then they did and they still could not get the aints over the line.

If we break free this week we will smash them. I'm backing us over 39.5.

If you look at the context of the year as a whole and everything that transpired, it's clear St.Kilda were playing as close to their best as possible.

All their structures worked, and their coaching moves worked, and most of their best players were best afield or still good-very good.

People forget how lucky St.Kilda were to even BE top 4.

A very valid point. They squeezed in - we deserved to top the ladder.

If we explode out of the blocks again we will go a long way to winning the thing. Here's hoping for an even quicker first goal :thumbsu:

Having just watched the replay. I have every faith in the players and coaches to be back and ready on Saturday and this time we won't take a backward step. Play the game on our terms. tighten up where we fell away this week and prove why we finished top of the ladder.

I'm glad there's a couple of big news stories around to keep the media's focus away from us.

Yep, the Hird/Thompson appointments will be sure to keep the vultures busy for a few days, it'll let the boys get on with the job.

[/Pies time is NOW]Guys, look, we need to stop Fisher. We need to stop Fisher. Are you listening to me? WE NEED TO STOP FISHER. DAMN YOU FISHER, WE MUST STOP YOU. FISHER!!!!!!!!!!![/Pies time is NOW]

P.S. I'm pretty confident going into this week as well, don't think it'll be another close one. Either side will win by 4 or 5 goals I think :thumbsu:

There were 2 absolutely inspirational things that happened in that hectic last quarter, firstly that attack on the ball by dale thomas was nothing short of inspirational.Every player who represents us on saturday have to ask themselves are they prepared to put their body on the line like thomas did, if not dont bother showing up.Secondly the work by johnson and reid in those dying minutes to keep their head over the ball and in front of them despite the relentless pressure by their opponents was magnificent.if we go on to win this premiership im sure many supporters would look back at that moment. That showed our hunger is as great as our opponents. we are a better side, a fitter side now lets prove that to the football world.
