Can someone please tell me who was on Carlton's veterans list in 2006, and who is eligible to go on to it in 2007?

The only one that's one on the list is Kouta and I am pretty sure he is the only that can go on it...Out next oldest players are Whitnall, Longmuir and McGrath who are all 27years old.

IIRC, you need to be at the club for 10 years, so only Kouta qualifies. Red's out next veteran when he hits 28 I guess.

I thought the rule was that you had to be a 10 year player at the club. Then I think they changed it to you had to be a 10 year player but you also had to be at least 30 years of age?

Can anybody else shed some light?

Bluegal is right, 10 years service and 30 years of age prior to 1st January. Whitnall will be a 12 year player by the time he is eligible.

That's how it used to be, but I think they changed just after Kouta and Hird hit thirty. I could be wrong of course.

I hope so AD. I know we were lobbying for them to make it 10 years but take away the minimum age. I just didn't hear anything about them approving it.

Only half of your salary is counted under the salary cap.

oh ok thanks 4 that. so does that mean that last year only half of koutas salary counted towards the cap. sorry if this sounds dumb

I thought the entire salary is waived from the salary cap? The only catch being that you could only nominate 2 veterans per year?

I believe it is half the salary under the cap for up to two veterans. You can nominate more than two veterans but the amount under the cap changes so there is no point. i.e 3 veterans = one third outside the cap each.

Only debuted for us in 1999, so he hasn't brought up his 10 years service yet.
