Have to say am disappointed with the live youtube stream. Was very short and they only showed the Calais from far.

I reckon it looks like a big Holden Cruze haha

honestly think it looks very european, like a Opel, less american/australian

Will wait for SS and HSV but at this stage am pretty disappointed tbh. Looks shit.

It's ugly wana c the gts c what rims they got.... They always have good rims out

Hopefully HSV change the rear lights like they did with the VE. Hope they change the headlights too.

Looks like a VW passat.

Will be interesting to know how much they're planning on selling the presumably spec'd out model in the OP/age article for.

Not that I'm the least bit interested in buying one.

That's the first thing that crossed my mind as well...

And always hard to tell until you see one on the road.

I will wait and pass judgement once they release the new HSV's to see if it is worth upgrading...

Do you own an E series?

Yep E Series R8

I hate the regular VE's. But when the HSV was released I changed my mind quickly. The tail lights are so tuff! Is it a series 1? Or the one with the led's?

Series 3. Also has some Walkinshaw additions such as the 3" pipes.

Nice. While I don't like the VF above, I reckon it's a pretty good template for HSV. I can see them changing the headlights and tail lights and making it look like a completely different car.

The GTS should be the bee's knees

I've only ever owned 1 commodore, a VL about 20 years ago, was a piece of shit, but to me, that is a very nice looking car.

This is the only VL I like. Fully sick bro:

Will reserve judgement until I see base / sports models and the car itself in person however doesn't really look that bad, they've definitely toned down the "aggressive" styling I'd say to get in before Fords move with releasing the far more Euro inspired Taurus here. I'm sure HSV will go and stick the full assortment of bolt on crap on the exterior to make it appeal to the knuckle draggers.

Can't afford a HSV eh?

I've never really understood the logic behind HSV. I mean, if you had $90,000 to spend on a car, you'd have to really love Holdens to buy a Senator.

Yeah fair point, except I didn't pay $90k and didn't buy a Senator.

I've had BMW's, and the problem is with a European car, by the time you option them up the price very quickly escalates...and generally you only get a basic 4 cylinder motor...

In my case, I'm not a brand snob, I just enjoy the driving experience.

Nope, but if I had that kind of money to sink on a car a HSV would rank rather low on the list, frankly I'd probably take an SS or Caprice over the HSV. The styling of the VE's looked like they opened the suggestion box and just went APPROVED! to every single one. However I will admit on the second hand market a HSV Grange is fantastic value, while being one of the few HSV's of late to not be gaudy as hell.

Styling may not be to everyone's taste - I'll give you that. BUT at least they have the balls to do something a bit "out there" and not produce something that looks like every other car on the market.

I hate driving a standard buzz box that looks the same as everything else on the road.
