Resource VFA/VFL Jumpers [image heavy thread]

Hey wizz. I've done a little bit of research of my own and I've found a few incorrect/missing jumpers. If you need the years I am happy to give you them.
The Bendigo Diggers blue jumper had yellow numbers with a thick white stroke.
Bendigo Diggers Numbers.jpg
The North Ballarat Flag jumper needs a thicker blue stroke around the star pattern.
EsseNoba1.jpg
Dolphins Double V jumper had two different coloured V's
WerrFran8.jpg
FranBoxh9.jpg
Murray Kangaroos also wore this (best image I have of it)
CobuMurr2.jpg
The most recent Williamstown Clash jumper has a different bird. Bigger version here if you need it.
ClashJumper.png

Casey Scorpions had another pink jumper earlier than yours.
CaseSand1.jpg
Werribee also had a Yellow version of the wings.
BendWerr8.jpg
Williamstown had a 150 years jumper for 2014. Logo here.
IMG_0280_985209.JPG

Northern Blues have a clash jumper. I think they've had PFC on their backs since they changed name to Northern.
FootNobl3.jpg
Bendigo had a clash jumper with just the logo. I don't know if Essendon did.
CobuBend5.jpg
Coburg had the old Richmond Tiger on their collar.
CobuBend2.jpg

Frankston also have a new home jumper (thank goodness).
FranEsse1.jpg
Box Hill had a heritage guernsey back in 2001.
BoxhWill5.jpg
You could argue that the Coburg guernsey has always had a droopier sash than the one you have.
CobuFran3.jpg
And the DOLPHINS wordmark doesn't cut off the top V at all.
FranTasm5.jpg
And this jumper was worn in 2009

FranBend4.jpg
The Bendigo gold white/green jumper had some blue on it.
r0_265_5184_3456_w1200_h678_fmax.jpg

And you're using the wrong Gold Coast logo. They had a different one in the VFL. It had blue underneath.
CobuGold8.jpg
Now I have a question. Can I see some of the jumpers you've made IRL? Specifically Kilsyth, Berwick and Moorabbin.

Murray Kangaroos also wore this (best image I have of it)

You can see the AFL patch on the locker tag, so it'd just be the same as the clash North wore that year with a VFL logo whacked on top.

Difference being the collar, I can't find where North with Russel Athletic had the collar pictured

That must be why the VFL logo is so wide.

Wizard, great work on this - it's good to see your project kicking on ;)

Here's a few missing designs/dates worn from the VFA's early years.

NOTE - credit for many of the following photos goes to Michael Riley and Ken Mansell from BoylesFootballPhotos.net.au who have done a great job of compiling team photos. Mero mentioned their Prahran page in an earlier post and you'll find the other traditional VFA clubs there as well.

PORT MELBOURNE
(dates shown below are the confirmed dates - other years remain TBD)

1886-1897

2016-08-06_13h03_13.png

1896*-1901 / 1908 / 1910
*Team photos show this design and the previous lace-up both being worn in 1896-97

2016-08-06_13h18_47.png

VFA1897.png

1905
Thick blue bands top/bottom with red band across the centre [note that in pre-1930s photos the lighter and darker colours are frequently inverted due to the development process, see here for an explanation: http://www.hardballget.net/orthochromatic-photography.html ]

This uniform had numbers on the back (Port were the first club to wear numbers and wore them just for 1905 - everyone else joined in 1911-12)

2016-08-06_13h37_48.png

1909
The jumper you currently have as their second design - note that it was worn with a round neck, not a v-neck

(NOTE - colours on this photo do not appear to be inverted, looks like they used the more expensive panchromatic process that gave a realistic representation)

2016-08-06_14h18_47.png 2016-08-06_14h17_37.png

1914
Similar to the 1905 design but just one hoop on the sleeves (NOTE - as with 1909 above, colours on this photo do not appear to be inverted)

BRUNSWICK

1899
last year of the red and black stripes

1900
changed to white lace-up with black stripes (worn until at least 1903)

2016-08-06_14h49_02.png

1909
Hoops - note they were worn on a long-sleeved jumper with circle neck (not a lace-up)

BRIGHTON

The B was actually at the centre of their monogram on their later jumpers and the neck was same colour as the jumper - only the collar was different (picture below is from 1947)

2016-08-06_14h57_00.png brighton 1947.JPG

COBURG

1926 = no sash
The jumper was dark blue with a thin red yoke (pic below is from 1926 VFA GF - Brighton players at left, Coburg at right, and Coburg's colours have been inverted due to the development process)

NOTE - team photos show they had reverted to a sash by 1928

NORTHCOTE

In 1935 they had a gold yoke on the back of the jumper

northcote 1935.jpg

OAKLEIGH

Monogram was originally a circle (pic below is from 1945)

medals liston 1945.jpg

By 1952 it had become an oval shaped O, but thicker than you have at the moment and with flared edges:

gf 1952.jpg

And by 1972 had been modified again to more of a footy-shaped O with a different font:

Not sure how technical you wish to get, but the 'pies jumpers this year are the same as our AFL ones.

Black jumper - no stripes above number, centre stripe runs into collar, small magpie at bottom of centre rear stripe

White jumper - no stripes above the number, white collar and cuffs, centre stripe runs into collar, small magpie at bottom of centre rear stripe

In terms of the logo on the numbers, these first appeared on the 'pies VFL jumper this preseason. During the practice matches it was the AFL logo (only the black jumper was worn), from round 1 the AFL Victoria logo with the odd cross over.

Collingwood jumpers are a bit different to what's pictured prior to the 2014 magpie jumpers

2008-09 jumper, it has 8 stripes in total, 5 on the front (2 could be argued as side panels, although there's a bigger space to the rear stripes) and 3 on the back. We only had a white version of this jumper.

2010 seen a mix of the above jumper and one minus the 2 side stripes. White version only.

2013 was the introduction of the jumper with the magpie on front, the stripes were quite compressed and it had weird lines on the shoulders

2014 seen the stripes return to a more normal width and the magpie moved down slightly. A white version was introduced.

The new Frankston jumper isn't exactly like the old one. The new one has two even lines right next to eachother.

Wasn't this supposed to be a one of but the players and members liked it so much it was voted in as the new Home Guernsey?

Great work WW. I posted these two pics on page 1 of your previous BF page. Moorabbin jumpers with 3 straight white stripes close together on blue also white collar and cuffs trim.
