Played second half but didn't do much I saw. I did see one VFL game he played and he was very good (2019). Hope he gets more time this year. Solid unit.

Reid played ruck mainly first Q I think. Then a GFL ruck (plays for Colac according to the local next to me). In second half No.s 72 and 73 took over. 73 ( who?) Looked OK with good leap but undersized for AFL- would guess 197cm.
That's it he looked the goods in 1 game A Byrne

Unless he’s grown at least 5 cm, he’s not a ruck prospect although with strength could be competitive at VFL.
Worth a look for KP, resting ruck I guess. Happy that he’s got the chance.

He is undersized for ruck maybe 195 is my guess. Has a crack though.

He looks like a taller version of Tim McGrath on the field.

Agree that KPD is his best chance for winning a list spot. KPD

Can anyone explain what happened with Kyle Reid last year? Came down to our VFL program with a very promising rep and then barely played with the Bankers at all in 2019, from what I can recall.

If he could be that for us he would be worth what ever pick we would have to use. I still feel that the NGA system that allows some clubs to manipulate outcomes should then flow on and allow clubs like ours to have a NGA talent developed from players that have been missed at draft.

Putting that aside, I guess he could range in cost anything from Stewart to last pick in the Rookie draft if we like him. What we need to know is can he run.

Can only judge on what he did at St Mary's as I didn't see him at training or playing in the VFL.

Started the GFL season very slowly and would have been close to being dropped early in the season. Absolutely dominated the second half of the season and was instrumental in Mary's winning the flag from 5th. Was equally well equipped at that level at both ends of the ground but wouldn't have enough tricks to play forward at a higher level.

Completely agree that if he is to go further it's as a key defender.

So fascinating that he appeared to be nowhere early in 2019 before eventually showing what everyone might have suspected he was capable of producing, once the season got serious.

Has there been an attitude problem that he is now rectifying? It would appear that, based on what he produced in the TAC Cup (as well as later in 2019 in the GFL), talent is really not the issue.

Maybe he just struggled for a few months after relocating to the other end of the state and took a while to get settled. There has never been any mention at Mary's of having any attitude issues.

Thanks for the info.

Would be great to see this work out for us over the years to come. Sounds like he has really impressed at both junior level and then in the back end of last year.

And it is certainly time we had another redhead carving it up in the hoops. Will be watching his progress with the Bankers carefully in 2020.

Sensational news about Mitch. If he's going to play Round 1 and have an impact, getting through this hit-out is vital.

Just read a longer story on Krock regarding the match & (rookie) Bradley Close is also playing Friday night - interesting to see him including alongside the others, wonder if that's just to get a run in the legs or why, because no other rookies, youngsters or recent drafts are playing

The other thing to note is Joel isn't playing - at the captains day the other day when Mitch was in attendance he made mention that Joel would be playing Friday night, but now he isn't playing. Thinking that suggest Joel is a long shot to play round 1...
