OzNik: You are passionate, and I admire your love for the Dolphins. It will be hard to encourage past and new supporters back to the Club, as with all Standalones.
During the VFA days, it was 'our boys' representing our suburb.
Now people realise that their former 'suburban' club is 'hopefully' a pathway for wannabes.
There is a small forward at Old Peninsula that would easily get a game , but i think he might want to be a king in a small nationOzNik: You are passionate, and I admire your love for the Dolphins.
Frankston should be the pride of the Mornington Peninsula, and I believe it wouldn’t be too difficult to develop.
Have the Dolphins considered scouting the local competitions for good, better, best, and promising footballers? Inviting them, even occasionally, to train with the VFL team would yield benefits.
A Frankston Dolphins team composed of local players from the Mornington Peninsula would encourage strong support both locally and regionally.
From my understanding we absolutely do look to the local comp when recruiting, but now that we're a team that's consistently in finals contention we need to also be looking at established, VFL-ready players who can impact for us straight away. Don't get me wrong, we have gained some great recruits from local and Talent League football in the past (Ollie Moran being a great example, but at the level we're at now it'll take a bit of development before guys like that will establish themselves in the senior side, I think.OzNik: You are passionate, and I admire your love for the Dolphins.

Great comeback after Q timeCan't lie, tonight stings like hell. Had the game in our hands and blew it in the last quarter. I'm glad we took it to them, but I'm personally over having teams that we just don't win against. Williamstown, Werribee, Box Hill, Southport, and arguably Footscray now have become bogey teams who we lose composure against.
Obviously pleased Willy won but given what I've read about Frankston over summer, I feared a bit for the Dolphins. Didn't go and was pre-occupied with the Dogs on Telly, so interested to know what the situation was to make you say the Dolphins "had the game in our hands"?Can't lie, tonight stings like hell. a 5 - 7 minute stretch close to the second half of the last quarter, Dolphins couldn't kick a goal despite having all the playObviously pleased Willy won but given what I've read about Frankston over summer, I feared a bit for the Dolphins. Saw Willy was in front at HT, so what was the story after that?
That shanked set shot down a point into Ellison keeping the ball in only to snap it out on the full was something. Surely the point to tie and then trying to lock it in was a better result?a 5 - 7 minute stretch close to the second half of the last quarter, Dolphins couldn't kick a goal despite having all the play
Probably just a leftover from last night. We got in free. There was a security guard checking bags but that was it.Thought it was free entry today at Frankston? Went past and they had the pricing poster up.
don't careFor those wondering
ABC had commentators at Whitten Oval
Fox Footy had Lauren Wood boundary side at Frankston then rest of the commentators in the studio.
Channel 7 Tasmania had Lily Thompson boundary side at North Hobart , commentary was done in a studio in Melbourne
Thoughts?
Pretty much this. We had several chances to ice that game and couldn't execute in the critical moments. Not to mention the atrocious first quarter.a 5 - 7 minute stretch close to the second half of the last quarter, Dolphins couldn't kick a goal despite having all the play
