Sandy had a real crack today

True, always happy with a win but not sure how good a win it was as Sandringham untested and wonder how competitive they will be. From first impression they will push sides in most games but could it be a competitive performance because it was v a side rebuilding? I guess only time will tell.

And how good was the crowd, things will happen if they can maintain and perhaps build on that kind of following.

Tonight from 7pm VFL Rewind returns on 94.1FM 3WBC for another season , the boys will look back at round 1 action and have a couple of guests and rhe return of Legends segment

For those outside the box hill area you can listen via TuneIn Radio App or www.3WBC.org.au

I was there i only saw 1 beer get thrown which wasn’t necessary mid game, but the Willy Coaches reaction after the siren was pretty poor also I think regardless of what happen
What if it hits him in the head and knocks him out , anyone would be pissed off after that , no f ing excuses for feral rats

As I said wasn’t necessary, and i agree but as a semi professional coach you cant be all game abusing fans and at the end gave everyone the finger on hill irrespective of peoples behaviours, but cans getting thrown isn’t on

I have only heard secondhand accounts of this and didn't witness it myself, but yeah I've heard a few accounts of a can being thrown. Not on by our supporters and it's about time someone put the foot down and told the loudmouths on the hill to pull themselves in line. They've given our club a bad name for years and still get celebrated simply because they give our players a lift.

I just read the codesports article i wasn’t directly behind the coaches box but still on the hill, unless i was busy watching the game i only saw 1 can thrown in the article it says 3 and the blokes got kicked out, i highly doubt it was a regular supporter yes they can carry on but Ive never seen that before

I wasn't a direct witness either. We normally sit in the pocket near Gate 3 and only saw someone having words with one of the Williamstown staff after the game.

I can't read the article since it's paywalled, but whether it was one can of three or whether it was a regular supporter or not, this sort of stuff needs to be nipped in the bud. The club is already facing allegations of a toxic culture and this drunk hooligan shit can't be tolerated. Hopefully whoever was involved is banned from the ground.

It's a one-hour drive from Williamstown to Frankston, plus tolls. [And back]
I don't think there would have been too many Seagull's supporters there.

I dont think anyone expects to go to work and have a can of beer thrown at them
Absolutely not, and i bet no fans and kids expect to be told to get ****ed amongst other things and given the finger during and post game, but a couple of bad eggs don’t make the whole hill a bunch of dickheads, it’s normally chanting and blokes having a good time I’ve seem one other incident similar and the guys mates kicked him out so people can’t put the whole supporter group into one basket.

Flipping off opposition supporters is nowhere near the same level as throwing a beer can at someone. Even if this coach acted first, the response is overblown and not appropriate. Does everyone on the hill deserve to cop blame for it? No, but if anything like this happens again the club is going to face external pressure to crack down on supporter behaviour.

Hey all. Would like to advertise a comp we're having in the Tassie board, which of course relates to that fabulous new VFL team who will be causing massive headaches for mainland scum in 2026, before joining up with the Tigers, Canes and Jackjumpers in 2028 to pick on mainlanders the full 52 weeks of the year in elite Australian sport...

Short story version, full rules are there on the thread but just think Brownlow, you tip 3-2-1 for the Devils players each round. Before the Anzac Day match, you forecast the 3-2-1 finishing order for 2026 as determined by BF posters, and that's the actual comp, which has this prize:

1774652250689.webp

We've got three at this point, but I only put it up on Thursday night. They've already played a game, but there's an extension for Round 1 voting. If you like the idea but are more of a dabbler when it comes to opposition teams, if you click on the scores on the AFL official site and go to the player stats, you can be completely half arsed and just go by the AFL Fantasy scores...! On any weekly occasion where player votes are tied, these will be the tie breaker, so you at least would be on the right branch of the tree. Also, if you miss a week, no issue...etc...read the rules and you'll see how it works...

On a side note, if you weren't aware, 7Mate (depending on where you are) and 7plus (everywhere - I watched last week outside Cairns) are broadcasting every Devils home game in 2026 (10 matches, and the next is Port Melbourne at midday today).
