Spot on. Need to find the best young players who want to play the highest level as long as they possibly can and develop them.
Theres plenty of young talent in the bayside/morn pen/dandenong regions good enough to play VFL in the long run

It's always come down to groups of players, even the Sandy Zebras group that is at the forefront now played together mostly at Dragons in the U18s. Would be nice to see a Frankston zoned group come through together

Would make sense with BH City Oval under construction. Could also be the beginning of the end for the BH /Hawthorn alignment. I recall they signed another 5 year alignment a year or two back so will be interesting if the Hawks go alone at the end of the agreement. Only BH and Casey remain as AFL aligned clubs.

Glenferrie is not suited for VFL, hasnt been for years. A lot of work needs doing. Otherwise Hawthorn would have entered their own reserves team in 2000 to play in the VFL instead.

Frankston have picked up Jamie Gilchrist from Eastern Ranges, that's about it on our end.

Preseason training would have restarted tonight so I'll try to head down there for a session and see if we've picked up anyone else.

Collingwood VFL have picked up Charlie McCartin. Playing in the VFL but also working as a recruiter for the AFL side.

George coached my brother at port and later mully and I was in the 18s his last year in 93 - we used to train Thursday’s with the main group and it was always great to be out on the track with him, generally in his NSW state jumper.

having dived into our Academy more in the last 12 months or so, this bloke has had the biggest impression on a lot of our kids

Is moving into a Bachar Houli Foundation Manager position as well, wont be long before AFL house snaps him up in an official capacity

Im sure he did and coached against Sammy Holt who was coaching Moorabbin and they got reported for belting one another

Do remember Mal, did a very good job at Willy who weren't in great shape in those days. Won that 76 D2 flag after winning the 1st Semi by only 4 points. That series made a big impression on this young boy.
