This has the results (not best players and goalkickers, however):-

http://australianfootball.com/seasons/season/vfl/126/premiership+season/9/9/2000

The Football Record can be viewed/downloaded here:-

http://www.slv.vic.gov.au/football-record
http://cedric.slv.vic.gov.au/R/E4S8...29?func=collections-result&collection_id=2634

The Scoreboard page (near the back of the Record) has the best players and goalkickers from the 2000 VFL games.

That's brilliant mate, I obtained most of my info from the Footy Record but had gaps when Collingwood played interstate. This will fill in a heap of gaps so big thank you to you and all on this thread for giving me a number of resources I wasn't aware existed.

Cheers all

Ok another wee small favour if anyone might be able to assist with the details (result, best & goals) for the 1983 Reserves Grand Final.

All I know is the Bombres beat the Pies, had a look at the Age archive for 26th Sept (game was on 24th) but only had a little write up about the winners, couldn't find any scores or details. Again any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

The Age from 26 September does in fact have the details you are looking for (page 25 of 32).

Wow that's embarrassing, I almost read the entire paper and somehow missed that bit??!!

Thanks again folks and apologies for using up a part of your lives due to my lack of attentiveness.

Fyi on page 16 there's a '82 Commodore with only 40,000kms on it for $10k, that's a bargain! Might give em a call

After some search tips (preferably online) to find some missing Collingwood Reserves results, bests and goalkickers from 2000

Specifically:

Coll vs Rich 13th May 2000
Coll vs Coburg-Fitzroy 29th May 2000
Coll vs ?? 10th June 2000
Coll vs Springvale 26th June 2000

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Spotted your original post requesting those 4 games and was then offline the next couple of days. I come back online, dig out the info then update the thread and discover some of the stats legends here have already helped you out with links ;)

Next time I update the thread first :p

Here's what I dug out anyway, hopefully it saves you some time...

Can anyone shed light on who the TAA team was in the 1949 Under 19s season. (They even appear in the Footy Record that season with their team squad)
http://tigerlandarchive.org/tiki-index.php?page=1949+Under+19s
I have a spreadsheet (downloaded from the internet) that lists finishing positions for the Under 19's over the years, and it has North Essendon (TAA) coming 11th in 1947 and 1948. Nothing is shown for 1949. It says they won 1 Wooden Spoon.

TAA (many years later renamed Australian Airlines) started in the mid to late 1940s and was based at Essendon Airport.

Perhaps the U'19 team was comprised of young apprentices working for the airline?

Thank you for that information
I wonder if they folded during the 1949 season.
They definitely played Richmond on June 18, but don't appear at end of season ladder.

It must be very likely that they didn't see the year out, then.

Was the Richmond Juniors team that (apparently) played a one-off season in 1950 connected to Richmond (VFL)?

It is a fascinating year. Richmond FC had 2 teams in the Under 19s.
This is from Tigerland Archive:
http://tigerlandarchive.org/tiki-index.php?page=Under+19s+Captains

"In 1950, the Richmond Junior League was disbanded due to lack of support from junior football clubs in the district.
A 4th 18 was then created under the name 'Richmond Junior F.C' and the 'managership of Stewart Hemmerde'.
This side was entered into the 3rd 18 League. As such there were 2 Richmond teams in the Thirds competition in 1950 - 'Richmond' and 'Richmond Junior'"

I've just had a reasonable look through the 1949 results in the Sporting Globe, and TAA were slaughtered in every result I saw (including the June 18 Richmond game). Their name doesn't appear for the next 4 or so weeks after that, so perhaps they made it their last game?

After a (very) quick search of Trove it would be no surprise they folded before the 1949 season was done. Check these three scores from that year:

April 16: North Melb. 23.24 (162) d. TAA 1.1 (7)
May 17: Hawthorn 11.22 (88) d. TAA 1.2 (8)
June 18: Richmond 27.17 (159) d. TAA 2.1 (13)

In fact, that mauling by the Tigers appears to have been the final nail in TAA's coffin - after that there's only 5 games a week instead of 6 with no mention of TAA, looks like their opponents the rest of the season had a bye the week they were scheduled to face TAA.

Sidenote - wonder if their nickname was the "Airliners" ;)

I've just checked a few of the earlier Football Records from that year (rds. 3, 4, 5) and they don't appear on the ladder then either, even though they had played by that time. So I suspect that they were merely a "guest team" in 1949. Perhaps they were a "fully-fledged" member of the competition in 1947 and 1948 only?

Edit. They are shown as Nth. Essendon (finishing 11th and last) in the rd. 18 1947 Record.
North Ess. (finishing 11th of 12) in the rd. 18 1948 Record.

I don't think that data is compiled anywhere.
So probably the best for you is to go to the Football Records of 1979 that are online at State Library of Victoria and scroll through each Round.

I don't know of anywhere you can find all that in one hit, but the 1979 Football Record is available here:-
http://cedric.slv.vic.gov.au/R/QDMI...28?func=collections-result&collection_id=2460

Checking The Age through that season would provide some of what you are looking for as well, but the collection has a fair few gaps, sadly:-
https://news.google.com.au/newspapers?nid=MDQ-9Oe3GGUC&hl=en

With the Football Record, you can download a copy for every week of the season, or choose to view - any that I've just checked have the Reserves and U-19s results on page 28 so you could try clicking on that page. Goalkickers, best players and final scores are shown, not qtr. by qtr. scores.

Wow.

Am I to take it that the ×5 200+ scores conceded by the Sydney Reserves in 1987 is the most by any one club in a single season?

Any links to the ladder for '87 would also be greatly appreciated

Just want to see if this works, and give you a sample of what you have help contribute to. This is part of the ever growing excel list of all Collingwood players ever that I am creating.
