Good win that, considering Williamstown were undefeated in 2nd place and averaging 22 goals a game heading in.

Hope we don't play many more televised games on the ABC. Tend to play a lot worse with the cameras on us than we do without.

Taylor in the best, very nice, as Willi have some good tall forwards.

Good to see Hogan getting a mention again.

Only caught the last quarter. Were wobbly early as Willy made a charge, but steadied in the middle through the good work of some VFL players (Cheep, Firman and Byrne), the power of Lonergan, the Lowe-like mitts of Scott Simpson and the behind kicking prowess of one (ha! appropriate!) Shannon Byrnes.*

Various other thoughts from the game...McKenna is bloody skinny but has a turn of pace, in stark contrast to Dawson Simpson, who is probably the biggest person in the world ever. Moles was good around goal, Harry and DJ showed they were a cut above.

*And yes, apart from that, he was pretty good.

Any word on Varcoe? He ran off the ground with what looked to be an injured arm/shoulder (?).

I didn't realise Scotty Simpson got 8 goals! What a great effort. Byrnes was listed in the 'best' but I didn't think he was good enough to be back in the seniors next week, I suppose it will depend on the match ups.

BTW who's number 49???

Asked the same question midway through the game...thought he was really, really good.

I didn't realise any of this bit:

Firman was chosen to play for Essendon in Round 22 last year before tearing his hamstring at the team’s final training session. His disappointment was compounded when he was de-listed at the end of the 2006 season.

Yeah, poor bugger used to play for my old club in Canberra. Good to hear he's going alright :thumbsu:
