MagpieBat & 1892 in the event we finish 1st who in your mind would be our prefered match up in 4th? (Sandringham, Geelong, Footscray or Port Melbourne)
Next will be the judge of how we stack up against their VFL players, but at this stage I'd lean towards either Footscray or Geelong. With their AFL sides in the finals they can only play blokes who don't line up in the seniors next week (there's no other restrictions for them that week). Sandringham will get some quality St Kilda players back, although as MagpieBat says they restrict their number of AFL players to 14 as part of the alignment agreement. Port Melbourne as we seen last week are always tough.

We will be in Melbourne next week to see the upset against Hawthorn (power of positive thinking!) and thinking about going to the VFL game at Whitten Oval. Does anyone have any handy hints for a first time attendee?

Passion strongly recommended. Fun compulsory.

Of course! What about things like best seating, things to avoid etc?

( I am feeling like the straight man setting up all sorts of jokes here)

There's some limited seating around the boundary on the training facility side. Grassy hills to stand on out on the Doug Hawkins Wing. They do have a pretty big grandstand as well, but the Dogs usually charge a bit extra to sit in there. Will follow up on that...

Seems to be a scoring end that Sandringham will have in the last.

Scores by quarter:

Sand - 34 (34), 29 (63), 19 (82)
Rich - 41 (41), 7 (48), 42 (90)

I'm not sure who I want to win.

Would be funny if Richmond could come storming home and deny Essendon a finals berth, though. The one thing the Bombres mob had to look forward to and they could have it snatched from them at the death...:drunk:
